Default Blue v. Orange

I've posted tons about the color scheme and am still in favor of "viewer's choice" by adjusting the screen color in our profiles. Short of that, I will just enjoy whatever color NC happens to appear in that day: orange (very lively and energizing, though hard on eyes) or blue (soothing, lovely, easy on eyes, calming, aaaahhh).

It seems that our board (like our hair has a mind of its own

Thanks Gretchen and Michelle for the fabulous resource and cyber hang out spot!!

PS. I miss the emoticons and certain avatars and never thought I could.
PPS. I tried to add a poll re: whether we should have the option of selecting the site-color in our profiles..

This is my first poll! Maybe it will help bring about this change, first suggested by K Kitty..

I don't think this matters, right?

Didn't Gretchen say that they are going back to orange as soon as things get fixed?

OMG - NaturalT , that is the sweetest, cutest picture in your avatar!! Pray tell, is that you as a little one?

As to whether this matters, hey, maybe Gretchen and Michelle will change their minds. I'm not suggesting the default be blue but rather that we are given some option re: color in our individual profiles. That seems most democratic/ fair..

Aww, thanks! Yes, that's me at 4. My mom took it when I was kid and she actually just let me take some home with me to scan them in.

I voted yes. The blue color scheme is so much easier on my eyes. I stopped frequenting the board because the orange was way too much.

Curlyara-

Thanks!! Maybe it's a good thing I didn't create a third option of "I'm indifferent" since it's good to have another yes vote..

NaturalT-

Awww, that's awesome your mom let you have that picture - I Love old family pictures! The blue is kind of a good-bad thing.. Good for eyes, bad for cutting down on NC habit..

Is that possible (to have an individual choice)? Who knew?

I would go with calming blue.

Nat -- verrry cute!

eyestrain you trouble maker you (lol)

i love the blue . i actually have to highlight the board before choosing the the topic to reply to cause the orange letters are super bright and seems to blend into each other. When it starts to give me a headache i go back to ezboard .

Maybe it's just my computer screen, but the orange doesn't bother me. It's more of a darker, burnt orange on my screen rather than an obnoxious orange.

I'm surprised blue is in the lead by far... why did I think most people preferred orange?!

well, blue isn't in the lead...having a color option is, though.

Curlytop-

I AM a troublemaker! (and if I could figure out which emoticon has those sunglasses, I would use it... )

Curlyara-

You are right, although one implication of people preferring "viewer's choice" by far is that we would like to set the site color to blue since orange is the default.

Gretchen and Michelle-

Whaddaya say? Is is possible to give us such a color-viewing option in our profiles?? Pretty please...

well maybe there should have been an i don't care either way option. cause i seriously don't care either way and i voted yes.

the whole for us/against us blue/orange thing is kinda ridiculous...you know what i mean? i'm not trying to stink up your thread, i promise.

i think having a choice as to what color you want the board to be is reasonable (if it's possible), that's why i voted yes.

My interpretation of the poll, given the subject line, was:
Choice=blue or other
No choice=orange

I expected the "don't care" or "this is ridiculous" people to not have voted, or even bothered to open the thread.

all i saw was the thread titled Poll: blue or orange? and i was expecting an i don't care option. but seeing how the options were worded and the actual title of the poll, i decided hey, i can vote and participate in this poll and thread instead of simply reading, putting my 2 cents in or not, and closing the thread.

that's all...still think it was a good idea eyestrain curly.
