Spinoff - For married curlies..

you should add a mutual option as there are people who just sort of clicked spontaneously into a relationship. I am not sure if mine was that or initiated by him, actually....

i put he did.
we were best friends for a few years...but i always liked him more then that. well he broke up with the girl he was dating...and we just wanted to spend tons of time together. we flirted HORRIBLY!
so it was kinda both of us...
but it was Him, age 17, on November 12th that sat me down, looked into my eyes, and said "Meghan....will you go out with me?"
so corny! but i was walking on cloud nine and bouncing off the walls!
we've been married 3 years on june 2nd.
and i still love him to pieces!
3A Once again on the quest for BSL healthy curly hair....
So far, we are at 8 (he did) and 2 (I did) with no one picking the third option.. I 'm not sure which GB picked..

No need to be down, by all means be up if you like :P

PS. I mean no offense to Mrs. GB, who seems like a lucky woman!

Meph-

I just figured out what you meant. LOL!

PS. I so hate that there is a typo in my poll options that I cannot fix I don't know why polls cannot be edited like other posts.... Bummer!

We were kind of set up by a mutual friend, though he never told us he was setting us up - just kept finding ways to get us in the same place at the same time. After a few years of hanging out in group situations I was the one that finally made the move.

I don't really know. He was eyeing me for about 2 months when I was in a previous relationship.

We had some mutual friends, or at least I was becoming good friends with his friends, and one thing I'll never forget is everyone, and I mean everyone, telling me how lucky I am that BK "likes me." So that of course peaked my interest.

I broke up with my boyfriend, a relationship that really needed to end anyway, went to a party at DH's apartment (we were still in college - afterhours of course!) walked right up to him in his bedroom and kissed him. He was shocked, happy shocked. I stayed with him that night and stayed with him every day/night following until he graduated a semester before me.

I feel so warm and fuzzy. Thanks!
We met online on match.com. He e-mailed me and then after we sent a few back and forth he asked me if I would like to meet.

I love that the thread and poll are still going, and truly enjoy so many of your posts!!!!! Keep them coming, lucky, happily married curlies

Hmm...I am not sure whcih option to pick...we met at a club while we were with a mutual friend.
We agreed to meet at another club that same weekend to see a band.
(actually that was Memorial Day weekend-1982!)
We started dating after that

I was the first one to ask him out, but we hung out together a lot before that, because he was dating my best friend and I was dating his best friend.

We had a mutual friend in the same program with us and the 3 of us got together for dinner after finals. My hubby offered to take me to the airport ( I was going to FL for Christmas to visit the folks). When I got back I called him and we hooked up at his place for New Years Eve and talked for hours. Over the following months, we met up often in the library to study. I knew that he studied there on the weekend, so I would go to study, but really to see him. He would do the same. He took me out for my birthday since I just couldn't sit home, and I realized that it was a real date, and the rest is history.

These threads coughed up my ex-boyfriend. He called last night around 8:30 pm. I still speak with him occasionally, but it's always just polite conversation. Well, last night he was in a talkative mood and disclosed all of the following to me:

he cheated on his girlfriend while she was pregnant with their 7-month old daughter

he has "smoke outs" regularly where he smokes weed for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and he doesn't think it's a problem that he does this in the house with his children (one his, two older from the girlfriend)

he is unemployed and a SAHD by default because he's been "let go" twice in the past year

he flunked out of law school (he's always lied about this before)

Thank God He sent me a sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have been his wife!

Just to make sure jealousy doesn't enter into the picture, I try to talk to him while DaNa is around (like if he calls me and leaves a message, I'll return his call while I'm sitting around with DaNa watching sports), and I'll tell DaNa if he calls when he's not around.

DaNa still has a few friends that he actually had sex with, but if I've met them and know that the relationship is really just friends now, and that's what both sides are interested in, it doesn't bother me. If a girl still liked him, whether they'd dated or not, I'd tell him to drop her. We're not still friends with all of our ex's, but these relationships were built on friendships, so it's different.

For awhile, I told him to stop calling because he still wanted to be with me and he was being disrespectful of DaNa. Now, though, he's gotten over it, and we were in a professional aggregation together that still "talks" via web and reunions, etc., so I found out from a friend that he wanted to talk to me, asked DaNa if he minded, and then reconnected with him. We probably talk once every 3-4 months. Does that seem weird??

I did. I just went up to him at the MET Museum in NYC during a Byzantine Exhibition and just started chatting. The rest is herstory!

We were friends for a while. Well, kind of friends by association. We hung out w/ a group of friends, but we didn't get along very well. I was engaged to someone else when we first met. It was a really bad relationship and I was very miserable in my life which made me quite the *****. After ending it w/ my ex, I went on a post bad relationship party binge and swore off relationships forever. A bunch of us were supposed to be meeting @ his house one night, but we ended up getting blown off, and spent the night hanging out together. I remember being very nervous b/c it was the first time we had hung out just the two of us. I wanted to bag the whole evening b/c I didn't know what we'd talk about. I knew driving home that he was the one. Now we joke that we didn't get along @ first b/c it was too painful that we couldn't be together.

I know that was long, but I just adore our silly love stories!
