do you smoke cigarettes?

I smoke anywhere from 1/2 a pack - a pack a day depending on the day.
I know I *should* quit, but I don't want to enough to actually do it.
I am young however, so I don't plan on smoking for the rest of my life...(yes, bad excuse, and yes, who knows :P )
So yah, for now, I'm a smoker.

A smoking ban in Madison just went into effect at midnight tonight! My roommate and I went out specially to sort of celebrate, only to find out most bars weren't really enforcing it until tomorrow. Grrr! So of course, we have no choice but to go out tomorrow night to celebrate it, too. It will be *so* nice not to come home from the bars and either have to take a shower at 2:30 a.m. or to wake up with a killer sinus headache!
I don't mind the smell of smoke at all. As long as it's not directly being blown in my face that is. And I've never come home smelling like it, weird, which is probably why I'm fine with it.

I confess - I smoke when I drink. Like a freakin' chimney. Other than that, nope, can't stand the taste and smell.

So no, I have been an adament anti-smoker since the age of 5. Both my parents used to smoke IN the house with two small girls and I would get KILLER earaches ALL the friggin time. Pretty sure i;'m allergic to the nasty stuff.

I kinda would smoke on and off (I luckily do not have an addictive personality, I'm the same way with coffee, can take it or leave it with no withdrawal). I hate the way I smell after a night of drinking and smoking. I usually have to take a shower before I go to bed. When I quite smoking sober it was the same as some others have described. I was just smoking a cigarette one day and realized it was not enjoyable at all, and knew that was it for me.

I think it's horrible when adults smoke in the house with children. My dad used to do this, but my mom eventually made him go out to the garage. Smoking inside is just yuck, because then your furniture, clothes, everything stinks.
I smoked on and off for quite a few years. In college I smoked a pack a day. Then I quit, started again but cut down a lot. For a while I would only smoke a few a week. I finally quit for good three years ago and I am so happy that I did.

Somewhat, but mostly when I drink. It probably averages out to 2 cigs/day - sometimes I have zero and other weekends I'll smoke 1/2 a pack.

I plan to quit for good when we decide it's baby time. That's not terribly far away, so I feel good with my timeline.

I smoke so little that my husband even sometimes forgets. But last night for example, I worked late from home and was out on my deck (beautiful night) doing some writing with a capt. and coke. I had three.

The smoking ban is up for review in Chicago right now -I'm all for it.
Geeky, your avatar betrays you.

No, I never smoked. I know my dad did before my sister was born. I think he saved up what he wouldn't spent for a year's worth of cigarettes and bought a TV with it.

My sister smokes and actually I am not sure if she quit or not. Makes me sad because she and BIL have two kids. I know it's addictive but it is also such an invasive habit--it stinks up everything and everyone else has to smell the smoke. At work, I can tell when a smoker just finished his or her break when they step into the elevator.

When my sister was 14 (when she first started ), she lit one and made me take a nice deep puff (I was seven--gotta love older siblings). She did me a favor because I will never forget the amount of coughing that followed.
I quit 3 years ago the day I found out I was pregnant and haven't gone back to it

I NEVER EVER EVER smoked inside though, that is just wrong :x
I LOVE smoking, but I quit when I got pregnant.

I'm like Chandler on Friends. Ever seen the way he acts around cigarettes? Like he knows he shouldn't do it, but it's just bliss to him. That's me.

I normally don't like the smell or taste either, but when you're smoking, you don't notice it.

I don't do it b/c it's so bad for you, but part of me wishes I could!

I don't smoke and never have. My mother smoked when I was young, and I got HORRIBLE earaches...but she'd never admit she was the cause...even though she probably was.

To be honest, I really don't mind the smell of smoke, either (embarassing as it is to admit...I feel dirty)...except if it is in my face b/c I feel like it might be poisoning me. BUT, I avoid it at all costs. If my mom didn't smoke when she was pregnant or when I was young, I probably *would* mind the smell.

I'm so glad that NY has been smoke-free in public places! It is so much cleaner and more pleasant! I remember when I was little and people smoke in MALLS! Imagine that now!!!
I've tried it before, but couldn't get past the taste and heat in my mouth. I grew up in a family of smokers, mom, dad and brother, and I always promised myself I would never do it (don't ask why I tried). I'm sure the smoking helped contribute to my father having a stroke that left him paralyzed. My brother is currently trying to stop. I hope he's able to do it. But, no, it's not something I am remotely interested in. It's really disgusting, IMO.
Used to smoke on & off for a while when I was younger, now I am really anti-smoking. If someone near me is smoking I always cough (whether I need to or not )
Be glad when the ban in pubs here comes into force.
