Ya! That smell reminds me of going out to clubs on Sat night.

The smell of smoke, perfume, and toothpaste reminds me of when my mom used to get ready to go out when I was young. Hey, everyone smoked in the 80's! You could smoke in movie theaters, and even hospitals!

It's funny how perceptions change. You can read books or magazine articles from the 40's and 50's and they talk about the "sweet smell of a Lucky Strike".

I work with pregnant or parenting addicts and it amazes me that they see smoking cigarettes as no big deal. They smoke in their houses and around their children and then wonder why the kids have asthma or other breathing problems. They aren't allowed to smoke in or around our facility, but if you walk 20 yards down to the bus stop, there they are puffing away. It makes me so mad. That's fine if they want to smoke, but when they are pregnant or around their kids, I just don't think they should have that freedom. Ok, I will get off my soap box now.

Oh, yeah. I quit 7 years ago after my then boyfriend put the ultimatum down. Best thing he ever did. But, I still get cravings every now and then, especially when I am drinking. But, I haven't touched one in 6 years and I don't plan to restart. My brother, sister, and dad smoke and it drives me crazy.
