Default Have you ever passed out (no alcohol)?

I mean with NO alcohol involved (thats a totally different story)....

I've passed out at least 4 times under stressful situations:

1. Burning my finger
2. At a very crowded standing room only concert with no food or water for hours
3. After donating blood for the first time
4. After puncturing my palm with scissors accidentally.

So it seems I have a problem with the sight of blood or something...but only my own. I saw my mother give birth to my little brother and had no problem! Does anyone else do this??

The worst time was after I donated blood, because I literally fell flat on the floor and didn't really truly recover until the next day. It was very scary...needless to say, I will never do that again!

I pass out a lot - in the heat, if I have a migraine, sometimes when I have my period. It's kind of a joke among the people I know. I once almost passed out on stage and had to sit down when I was supposed to be standing. Also, I'm hypoglycemic and if I don't eat properly, I feel faint or faint.

I passed out in a bank once when I was 13. Me and my mother were going out of town and she asked me if I wanted to go with her to her credit union to get some money. I had just got out of bed and still in my PJ's. She said to throw some clothes on and go because she was in a hurry so I put on some clothes on top of my PJ's.

I think the weather was still warm but not summertime. As I was standing in line with her I was getting hot and the room started to go black. The next thing I knew someone had helped carry me to a chair. I think it was that I had on too many layers on.

My stories are less interesting . . . .
Mostly I've passed out when my blood sugar was too low - I'm hypoglycemic. I think I passed out from a migraine once. What can I say, I'm just the boring type. OH! I passed out once when I hit my head on the door post. Well, actually it was the striker plate for the door latch. I was Kindergarten or younger and just ran into the door post! I still have a faint scar on my forehead from that . . . .

Just once back in highschool while getting shots for school. I think the nurse injected a lymph node by accident.

I used to faint a lot if it was hot and I hadn't eaten. Standing in a crowd will do it but I'm okay if I sit. Touring the delivery room made me lightheaded and I had to sit down and then leave. One night when I was 16 or 17 I nearly fainted 3 times for no reason, went to the ER, and they found nothing. I'm hypoglycemic too and will definitely pass out if I start getting the shakes and don't eat but in that state, I'd probably push someone aside and steal their sandwich before that happens. Some people are just delicate flowers

I hadn't been feeling that great and was very overtired. DH and I were going to Florida for vacation and after the plane landed when we walking through that thing that attaches to the plane. I was mid sentence with this lady, twisted my right ankle a little bit and the next thing I remember I was rolling over from my stomach onto my back completely on the other side of the hallway and I was laughing hysterically. Well, DH just thought I tripped and fell so he was like "are you okay?" and I said I was so he pulled me up and said "then come on, we're blocking traffic." The lady seemed more concerned and I couldn't figure out why.

When we sat down in the terminal my DH was telling me I fell straight forward and he couldn't believe I didn't put my hands out or do anything to try to stop the fall or save my face from getting smacked. And he was wondering why I twisted my right ankle but fell completely on the other side of the hallway. I was like "ya know, I know I twisted my ankle and then the next thing I remember is rolling from my stomach to my back, I think I passed out." He was mortified that he immediately got me up and made me walk fast to clear the jam of people that were trying to get off the plane. He said "OMG, I'm so sorry and that lady was freaking out, she probably knows and I looked like a big jerk."

Now everytime we fly, he makes me hold his hand when we get off planes and asks me if I'm okay 1,000 times and makes sure I eat something. Too cute, what a wierd thing when it happened though.

I used to faint a lot when I was a kid. Back in those days, they only had incense at high mass and on First Friday at benediction. I'd faint right there in the church pew. Once I hit my nose sideways on the pew as I went down and broke my nose. Finally my mom got the school to agree that I could leave church after mass, but before benediction on first Fridays.

Other than that, I think my fainting has been limited to low blood sugar or cigarette smoke. And I still feel faint when I smell church incense (is it frankincense?) but that's probably more of a subconscious reaction.

I passed out when I piereced my own ears & then when I was in labor.

I came very close to passing out when a medic went through my vein, after I had sinus surgery & the doc was taking out the 'tampons', when I got heat stroke, & when I was having an inner ear infection or migraine or possibly a light seizure or low blood sugar (no CT scan, MRI, nor blood work was done so the docs couldn't figure out why).

I passed out once when I was around six...my cousin and I were at his house and we were playing Peter Pan and jumping from the coffee table and onto the couch...I guess our parents weren't paying attention LKOL But when I hit the couch, I landed on something hard and had the wind knocked out of me and I was out for a few minutes.

another fainter here. i'm slightly anemic, plus i have tachycardia (very irregular and frequently rapid heartbeat) so it happens every once in a while. the last time it happened was in may...the things that usually initiate it would be low blood sugar, definitely plane travel (very hard on me), and being overtired/exhausted. i can kind of relate to what amneris was saying, because it's sort of an ongoing joke between me and my friends as well.

Once after a fasting blood test.

Result of low blood pressure - I still get dizzy from this when I stand up.

Various other times for no known reason.

Another member of the low blood sugar club. Most of the women in my family seem to have this. When I feel it coming, have to get my head low no matter where I am.

Will also pass out from pain and it doesn't take much. What a wussy.

I remember now I have passed out a couple of times from emotional distress - too much crying led to hyperventilating - don't really want to revisit that part of my life, but there it is....

Yes, just once. I hadn't eaten for ages, and I cut my thumb on a can. I ran it under water, and it wouldn't stop bleeding. My own blood doesn't bother me, and missing meals doesn't usually affect me, but I think it was the combination that caused me to pass out. Because I went smack down onto the kitchen floor, I could have hurt my head, but was completely fine, and I think it was due to my hair cushioning the blow.

I've only come close to passing out twice, and these were both period related.

Wow...I'm so glad I am not alone!

This is kind of a joke between my family and friends also. Its very weird because I am very athletic and in good physical condition, but idk, something just makes me so weak! Maybe I have low blood sugar too...hmm.

I just remembered that last week at my HS graduation I was sitting on stage in a VERY hot auditorium and under the lights I REALLY felt a dizzy spell coming on. But I kept drinking water and it passed...that would have been SOOO embarrassing, I'm so glad I didn't pass out right there.

Thanks for the compliment about my avatar too

I used to have fainting spells alot, once I passed out on a cement slope, thank god someone caught me. Another time I blacked out , woke up 25feet away from where I last rememberd and was bleeding. I smashed my chin on my coffee table, I have a scar.
