I think small dogs love playing tug-o-war. Calvin spazzes out and gets all crazy when we play it (which isn't as often now because I'm paranoid about his back). It's one of his favorite things and he especially enjoys growling at me.

Have you ever had leeks?

Sure. We like to go pick wild leeks in the spring.

Do you keep a garden journal? (working on mine right now. I don't keep detailed writings like I used to. But I can tell you when the first snowfall was, when the first hummingbird arrived, and the first day the lawn was mowed was in 1989 tho. hahaha.)

No, never been much of a gardener (or a journal-keeper for that matter).

Do you plan meals in advance or whip something up in the spur of the moment?

I try to plan a weeks worth of meals because I'm horrible at putting things together on the spur of the moment (oh, how I wish I had that talent). I'm just not creative and I can have a pantry and fridge full of stuff and have a hard time putting together a meal.

I want to start a garden journal so we can remember what worked and what didn't with our veggie garden. I really need to get on that.

Have you ever been in a wedding? If so, who was it and what was your part?

Unfortunately, yes. I have a few that came about when I was younger, but none in many years. *knock on wood* Reminds me I need to find a dentist!

Have you ever tripped/slipped and busted your boo-tay in public?

Yeah, lots of times. I blame it on wearing flip flops in all weather (doesnt stop me from wearing them though).

I guess it would depend on if it was wandering alone or on a lead with a trainer. Alone: I'd try to get away as quietly as possible. With a trainer: I'd probably try to get close and chat with the trainer and see if I could pet it.

Is it hot where you are today? Its going to approach 100 on Thursday here!

Very hot. 90's today and tomorrow. I love it hot, but I'm not doing hard labor outside and I have central air at work and at home so it's not like I'm suffering in the least. We had some power problems tonight probably due to the heat.

Do you have candles handy in case of a power outage?

Yes! I have tons of candles because I love how they smell but they would come handy in a power outage. I also have plenty of flashlights for that purpose as well.

dozens - dogs, cats, ducks, guinea pigs, fish, birds, turtles, lizards, I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

How about you?

Some kitties and dogs as a kid, two kitties that I remember are Tinker Bell and Pepper. We had several dogs, but never any inside dogs and they always seemed to be strays that "followed me home".

Do you enjoy clothes shopping?

I think getting new outfits can be fun, but ever since I've gained weight, it hasn't been as enjoyable. I was making progress but then life got hectic. I'm trying to make my health a priority this summer so hopefully I'll be back in shape this fall and I can enjoy trying on outfits again!

What's your favorite soup?

Yes. My native language is English (I think there's some people on here who have a different first language). I can get the gist of something I'm reading or listening to in French. I know a few odd words and phrases in several, mostly European languages (though I guess I know a few words and phrases in Arabic too).

I used to be fluent in Japanese, but now I'm only proficient. I can get around and have casual conversations, but I can no longer discuss hot button news issues or partake in a highly detailed or technical conversation

How do you handle your hair in the wind?

Depends. I have longer hair with bangs and layers. When it's cold out I do a couple different things. Before I put my coat and scarf on I make sure the length of my hair is pulled back past my shoulders(sometimes I loosely wrap a hair tie around it, but very loosely so not to disturb the wave/curl pattern), then I put my coat on over my hair(the lining is kind of silky so its not too rough), and then wrap my scarf around my neck and head out. Another thing I do is straighten my bangs and pull my hair up into a ballerina bun or a sock bun (they're different I promise XD)closer to my nape then the crown due to the weight giving me a headache, and making sure to exclude my bangs and a couple loose curls, to frame my face, I take a slouchy knit hat and cover the bun and the rest of my head. Those usually get me where I'm going.

As for when it's warm out I pull it into a side braid with the rest of my hair pinned down securely(or others could french braid it, my layers and thickness don't care much for french or dutch braids..) with my bangs straight and a few loose waves/curls around my face, and occasionally pull on a lighter knit hat if it's not too hot out.

My question: Would/do you use a bike to run errands and get around when possible/practical(excluding bad weather, moving, traveling out of town, etc)? You know, to save gas, get exerise, car isn't practical at the time, to be eco-friendly, what ever the reason.

I used to, but it's not practical where I live now. I did try a scooter for a while.

Why does my skin get greasy on humid days?

The humidity is too high for proper evaporation.

Does the ice-in-front-of-the-fan trick really make it cooler than a fan alone?
