spring, we have trick or treat on thursdays around here because our Halloween parade is on Saturday and it's a big deal so no one wants both on the same day Only happens once every 7 years but it was easier to just keep it on the same night. So it was last night. A warm beautiful night for it so there were hoards of kids around town. I don't get any in my neighborhood tho. At my last house we used to get 300-400 and often ran out of candy and had to give out money.
ninj - look on ebay or elsewhere for similar items. Then get a gram scale (postage scale or food scale) to get the gram weight. find out what silver or gold are going for per ounce then figure the percentage by weight and grade of silver/gold. Lots of coin/jewelry dealers will tell you this info for free. With metals being so high, it is often the main value of jewelry these days.
Is it weird that I've never had pizza delivered to my house? (I live within a couple blocks of 10-15 places that sell pizza)

6 or 7 usually.
Fairly long lived - many into their 80's and 90's.

Yes, it's Hurricane Sandy coming from the south and another storm (or system) coming from the north and they're expecting them to collide creating this Frankenstorm. They're expecting it to be pretty ugly.
I was sitting in my car at work watching fog roll in. At first it looked like a cloud of smoke and I was wondering where the smoke came from.
Is it foggy in your area?

I love the looks of snow and taking walks after a good blizzard and the way snow makes things so quiet. But I hate winter because it lasts too long.

We only have one.
Pumpkins are too expensive for one each. Though one day I hope we can have one for each family member
ETA: Do you freehand carve your jack-o-lantern or do you follow a pattern?
