Some sweet-battered tofu with sesame seeds.

Was it a foregone conclusion that the old record player I wanted was gone from the thrift store when I went back today?

It was fate.

Why did this entire process of choosing a new pope make me long for and gain a new respect for century old traditions like smoke signals?

I couldn't say, but perhaps it's a reaction against technology, with all its beeps and bings and ringtones?

What name would you choose if you were made Pope?

Fredweena I

When will I find out that I got the job? (I'm being an optimist - but hey I can be because the woman I'm working for now told me she'd snap me up if she had the head count, and she called the dept I applied in 3 times to tell them to interview me)

You will know within the next five minutes. The great Dog in the sky decrees it.

Power of suggestion. Just a guess.

What flavor cupcakes will claudine and scrills get this weekend?

With scrills it's anyone's guess, but claudine is hoping for butterscotch.

Can you name a conspiracy theory that's true?

What did I eat for lunch? Well, I wanted spaghetti, but I waited too long (in other words, let myself get too hungry), so I had Israeli couscous, tofu, and peanuts with sirachi (siracha?). It's my fall-back meal.

Ruggles is a weird name for an ice cream brand. Why is it called that?

I have no idea. I agree it's weird.

What's the last thing you decided you wanted to learn to do and then you followed through and learned it?

Yoga, I think, although the learning is still a work in progress, but I'm a year into a fairly consistent practice, reading a lot, going to seminars at my studio, asking a lot of questions. I won't actually ever finish learning though. So I don't know if it counts.

How many medications do you take?

Two daily for my thyroid so I don't croak. Seasonally I add in an allergy pill.

Who taught you how to drive?

Oh, my. Well, an older pothead friend. We took his aunt's red Opal to a pretty park with a lot of interior roads and parking lots, he hit his pipe pretty hard, and then relaxed and let me practice all I wanted. It really helped with my confidence.

I still have a fondness for Opals (the car).

On what kind of car did you learn to use a manual transmission?

A green Mazda 323. My mom made me learn on a manual, I wasn't allowed to drive an automatic until I'd tested on a manual. She can't drive a stick and never wanted me to be in the same position as she was (although she could have just learned herself, she never did)

What's your dream car?

Hmmm........okay, by snack food, is it something we eat whenever we can, or a treat? Because York Peppermint Patties are a regular, but chocolate covered pretzels are a treat. Vegan choc. pudding, too. (Very pricey.)

Would you buy cute socks from a vending machine?

Imitated the scanner going "beep" while buying groceries.

Yeah.

Have you ever worried that if you said something (unpleasant) aloud, you'd speak it into existence?
