Anyone drink this concoction? Notice any benefits?
No... what is BSM?

Sometimes I drink a cup of hot water with half a squeeze of lemon in the mornings. My grandma did this every day of her life, so I guess I picked it up from her? Supposed to be good for the liver or something...
I have tried natural ACV - I can drink it but I just cannot make it a habit. I did the lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper drink - didn't do a thing for me.

I was just reading about this in Folk Medicine by Dr. Jarvis. Actually, it is a glass of water with 2 tsp. honey and 2 tsp. ACV each day that he recommends. I'm still not sure what it is supposed to do. He kept saying how important potassium is to the diet, and both honey and ACV have it. He also says honey is much better for the system than white sugar. This book was written like half a century ago, though, when honey wasn't so frickin expensive. Have you SEEN the price of honey lately? It was $1.50 (for small container) just last year. Now it's $2.65! I guess it is the plastic used to make the containers, and there is a bee shortage going on.

I always use honey in my tea instead of sugar - I just like the taste much better. I'm not sure about this honey drink, though. For one, the honey price, and two, I tried the drink today: it did NOT taste like apple cider like the author said. It tasted sour and smelled like stinky feet.
@LAwoman Black Strap Molasses.

I have never tried this mix but I have heard good things from another forum.

It is supposed to aid in weight loss and hair growth.
I don't see why there is any reason to mix them together, it sounds gross. How 'bout a salad with ACV, and a cup of tea with some of the other stuff.
I am not sure why the mixing but that is what my article told me to do.

Now with the ACV - I just bought all natural ACV (with the Mother in it - you have to shake it) and you are supposed to drink 2-3 tbls before each meal. It's suppose to help with appetite suppression and digestion.

There are a ton of articles about how good ACV is for skin, hair, digestion, etc etc.

Yeah, I heard the ACV drink is good for hair growth too. Didn't hear about the weight loss but I have been losing weight since I started taking it.

The lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper drink - you're s'posed to drink it instead of eating food. It's the lemonade fast.
There was a thread a while back on taking a tablespoon of ACV a day, or something along those lines, for the supposed health and beauty benefits.

I tried it for about a week. I gagged it down mixed into some apple juice.

I saw some changes better skin tone, etc. but nothing that outweighed how completely vile it tasted.

I'll stick with putting the ACV on my hair.

As for the fasting lemonade stuff, I just don't buy into fasting. I have a hard time depriving my body of what it needs. It seems unfair, seeing how much it does for me every day. The least I can do is feed it.

If I need to lose weight, I do it the old-fashioned way: healthier diet and exercise.

Oh wow after only a week ACV improved your skin tone? That's cool.

But did you see the part about "gagging" and "vile"?!

However, did I mention it was disgusting and totally not worth it?!

I don't think it'd bother me. I can deal with semi gross stuff.

Oh my goodness! You should've told me to shut up right then!

I just tried molasses! It is nasty!

Oh the humanity!

ACV, while bad, is better though. Really.

1joy was just talking about acv & bsm on another thread.

Foxy BSM is Blackstrap Molasses
RECIPE:
1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses, 1 tsp ACV first thing in the morning

We have emails from our readers about blackstrap molasses curing cancerous tumors, fibroid tumors, anxiety, constipation, edema, heart palpitations, anemia, arthritic pain, joint pain, and acne, just to name a few. It has also been reported that molasses turns gray hair back to its original color and is a wonderful skin softener!
ACV FACTS: They include cures for allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout

I also do a virgin coconut oil cocktail with each meal
RECIPE:
6oz hot water, 1 TBLSP VCO, 1/2 lemon squeezed

COCONUT OIL FACTS: WEIGHT LOSS, SKIN/HAIR/BEAUTY, VIRUSES/BACTERIAL INFECTIONS/FUNGUS/PARASITES, CHRONIC FATIGUE,CHRONIC FATIGUE, POOR CIRCULATION, TEETH, HEART and DIGESTION and more.

Lemon Facts: Warm lemon water serves as the perfect good morning drink, as it aids the digestive system and makes the process of eliminating the waste products from the body easier. It prevents the problem of constipation and diarrhea from taking place, by ensuring smooth bowel functions. Read further to explore information about hot lemon water benefits…

Lemon is a vitamin C rich citrus fruit that enhances your beauty, by rejuvenating skin from within and thus bringing a glow on your face. One of the major health benefits of drinking lemon water is that it paves way for losing weight faster, thus acting as a great weight loss remedy. Lemon water flushes out body toxins and thus is extremely beneficial for the body.
