Me: Looks like you may need braces
BK: What are braces?
Me: They make your teeth straight
BK: Why? Are my teeth curly?!

Wa Wa Ga ga ga (her rendition of lady gaga)

These are the 2 songs being sung at our house...or should I say 2 lines of 2 songs... over and over. LOL

I just had this coversation.

Lillith: Mommy, why does Circee (dog) have to go to the potty?

Me: Lilly, why do you have to go to the potty?

Lillith: Because I'm a grown up girl!

My three-year-old saw Memorial Day marked on the calendar, and asked what it was for.

I (foolishly) tried to be delicate and said, "That's a day when we remember people who are not with us anymore."

Him: "Like Marley? [a friend from his old preschool] She is not with us anymore."

Me: "No, actually it's for remembering people who have died."

Him: "Like George Washington? He died."

As long as we're doing nursery rhymes....

Aidan sings, "Baa baa black sheep, anywhere you are"

My cousin is a couple months pregnant, but she's very small so she's showing a lot. Apparently this exchange happened between a girl in her sons class (she volunteers there a lot) and her mom:

Girl: Ms. Stella has a baby in her!
Mom: How can you tell?
Girl: because she swallowed a volleyball.

So the other day my mom, brother, and SIL took Matthew to get a haircut. They were telling him how great it would be because it's getting hot and his hair was quite long. Matthew busted out with "no, don't cut my hair, it's so beautiful". DEAD. I still crack up thinking about what a little narcissist he is.

I've been having problems with my 5 year-old seeking negative attention. It's been pretty bad as of late, so I wanted to give her some positive reinforcement for not having tantrums or making crazy demands today.

Me: Lilly, I want you to know how happy I am that you're having a good day. You're behaving so nicely and you've been very helpful. I'm glad my old Lilly is back.

Lilly: Well, she's going on vacation.

Thanks Cori. It's crazy, isn't it? My little girl could drive anyone to drink. I hope she outgrows this stage soon.

My theory is that since we all told her she was going to be a 'big girl's at 5, she took that to mean she can boss everyone around.

Today she screamed at the top of her lungs BC I wouldn't let her have a cookie before bed. And then she told the person on her pretend phone that mommy couldn't come to the phone BC she's dead.

Sigh.

I can't wait for Kindergarten and she 6 BC I'm certain then she will straighten out.

I remember D1 slamming doors so hard pictures came off the walls - so, this too shall pass.

K is 5 1/2 and he is going through the negative attention thing too. Today, I stayed home to just spend the day with him and it's been great. What will tomorrow be like? Could be great, could be, "DON"T HUG ME CAUSE YOU ARE BAD MOMMY!!!!!"

My son is all hugs and love until we get to the skate park. Then it's "yep" with barely any eye contact and "I know Mom" and other boy things. Boys are awful creatures sometimes

Also DD came to my bedroom door the other day holding our kitten and petting her like Dr Evil. I say "Why ate you maniacally petting Peanut?". She replies with a huge grin "Because she wants me to meniacally pet her". I laughed so hard.

I was woken up at 4:30 this morning by a little finger tapping me on the shoulder asking me what's taking so long for morning to get here.

I had my laptop out the other day studying for an exam and P (3) brings her little "Leapfrog" computer and a box of cookies over and starts tapping on the keyboard whole eating cookies. I said "what are you doing with those cookies?" She replied "studying. That's what you do when you study."

I was busted for eating an entire box of girl guide cookies while studying
Cracked me up.
