*UPDATED* Going to get a brazilian! *Screams* (Yes, adult!)

Wondering if I shoudl try one of these. I epilate my bikini line, and have thought about doing the rest of the area, but it hurts like a mo' fo' and I don't know if I could do the entire area with my epliator.

Someone mentioned the no scream cream. I used that when I was getting it done regularly. It's really expensive, but it lasts a while because you don't need a whole lot. I never went without so I can't say if it was worth it or not.

And about the look. The first time I got it done I came home and told DH, "This thing has hair on it for a reason. YICK!" I thought it was hideously ugly, but I love how clean I feel when I have it done.

Mine was $85 for the first time and then $42.50 every time after that. And I *did* have to get on all fours. That's easier and less humiliating for me than trying to do what that girl is doing in the cartoon.

Heeheee!! Believe me, I'll have reviews.

What does an epilator do that is making everyone cringe?

No prob, I was just curious. For now I'll just wait for Empressri's follow up.

I just started eipilating a few weeks ago. I love it! I waxed my legs for a few years so the hairs are fairly thin and I don't find it painful.

I tried it on my bikini line and thought it was *ok* at first, but I couldn't finish the job. I can't imagine using it to get all the hair down there!

Epilating does get less and less painful each time. I can totally talk and joke while doing it now. Zip, zip, zip, done.
I do the bikini area, but not the whole thing. Yowwwch!

Someone asked about frequency of getting it done, regrowth and itchiness. I was going 6 months between each wax for a while.. Then stopped doing them and now just trim a little. It does get easier after the first time, and if you go regularly then it probably takes no time at all. Regrowth is sparse and there is no itchiness. Might want to exfoliate a bit more to prevent ingrown hairs.

Epilators are the work of the devil!!!

I read somewhere that the hair down there is actually to help lubrication. Anyone know if thats true?

ETA: Actually, I always heard the hairs there and in the pits were to create more odors, to better lure the cavemen.*

* Just a joke, if you don't remove body hair I am not calling you a cavewoman. After all, we have showers and antiperspirants nowadays.

Oh, and regarding a man doing the wax... If he were one of the hotties I lust after, I wouldn't mind. Then after, he could kiss her, and make her feel better...

Okay ladies! So I promised that I would dish about my experience. So I just got back home.

MAN OH MAN IS THAT SPA NICE!!!!!!!! I have got to go back for a facial and massage, I mean seriously. I would sooo be a great lady of leisure, hanging out at the spa in my robe and slippers.

Anyway, the esthetician was VERY pleasant, and we had a good chat. They use the stripless wax, and let me tell you, it hurt way less than I thought it would. I jumped a few times when she got closer in on the nether regions, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. She even cleaned up some spots the ladies that did my legs missed (I'm only going to the Red Door from now on too) so I was grateful for that, and she didn't charge me.

I didn't have to do the doggie thing either for those that want to know lol.

I have her a hefty $25 tip cause she deserved it. Anyone that wants a recommendation if you're in the Garden City area, pm me so I can give you her name and whatnot.

I'm so happy!! I did take motrin before going too...I took four to be exact lol!

Oh, and I did exfoliate in the bath tub the night before. I used some honey facial exfoliant that I'd purchased at bath and body way back in the day, but it works like crap on my face, so I used it to exfoliate before shaving.

I'm somewhat convinced this is mostly appropriate for women who aren't "fuller" figured; am I wrong?
