Actually.. I still want to be a schoolteacher so I can write on the chalkboard all the time.

I guess I could just get a chalkboard.
See. This is why I'm not a teacher.
Me stupid.
I used to love writing on chalkboards too. And I used to love erasing them..

What's the point of censoring swear words? Saying sh*t doesn't stop us from getting the meaning. Does that bleep really make a difference?

Also - what's the point of swear words? To show you're angry?

Confused.

Office Depot + Staples = heaven. I obsess over everything, even different types of paperclips. I want those little Sharpies that you can attach to your key ring. *drool*

I'm reading through this thread, thinking, I know I have a stupid question but I can' think of it! Then I read this. I just made this mistake the other day. I said both, and didn't know which was right.

I want to know why those kids won't let the rabbit have any Trix! It doesn't even taste that good, why are they hoarding it?! Little jerks.

Office supply stores and catalogs make my heart go pitter-patter

After seeing this thread, I immediately began searching online for chalk and also saw the Crayola Anti-Dust. I also saw "Prang Hygieia" brand.

I'm so hopeful, yet timid---my heart's been broken so many times.....

(For all this longing for chalkboard-quality chalk, did I add that I do NOT own a chalkboard? I really want one of these for DD's room, though.....)

I caught myself drooling a little when I saw the chalkboard. What is it about chalkboards?
I need to just buy a chalkboard.

In elementary school, it was considered a privilege to be able to wash the chalkboard. I used to get all kinds of pissed off when a kid would go up there and just take the sponge and willy nilly go in all different directions. So improper! You're supposed to start at the upper left corner and make stripes from top to bottom.

I have a wee chalkboard. It's only about 12 x 9" but it's all mine. I write on it every day.

I'm going to look for the Crayola Anti-Dust, "An Du Septic" Chalk. That phrase is cracking me up, apparently it's been around for quite a while ...

I know it's a crayon box, but isn't that cool? Only thing better than office supplies is vintage offices supplies.

But I'm very curious about this Prang Hygieia of which you speak, sinistral.

Hey, check out these chalkboard erasers ... *drool*

Anyone else remember that nifty device music teachers used, the wooden thing with metal wires sticking out, each with a piece of chalk, so they could write music on the chalkboard?

That thing was cool.

Okay, really need to stop saying cool now.

grenadine can make lemonade pink.

I have 2 questions - can fermented food (ie kimchee) go bad?

and

if you have a nursing 18 month old and newborn does your body split the difference in the nutritional quality of the milk production or does it default to the newborn's needs only?

According to some of the ads, the Prang Hygieia brand is noted for "long, slow wear" and "writes smooth, erases smooth." Hmmmm.....

http://www.prangpower.com/shop/index...5&sec=1&cat=35

I'm very skeptical about the colors. I have NEVER seen colored chalk with the same qualities as chalkboard-only chalk.

Vintage office supplies, adding machines and anything typewriter-related....*drool*

I know, I felt kinda naughty after reading that.

Combine some of that chalk with my earlier professed attraction to "words and nerds" and ... I'm feeling a little light headed and woozy all of a sudden.

since we're talking about chalk, did it every make anyone else crazy when the teacher would erase the board, but leave a few small chalk marks behind? it made me nuts when they wouldn't erase the board perfectly clean!

i had to fight myself to not go up there and fix it myself!

I did teach for a semester two years ago, and there were NO chalkboards, only "whiteboards."

It was a crushing disappointment to me.

I remember the stick for making straight lines with chalk. And I remember the long wooden rods with a hook at the end, for opening tall windows. And even wooden desks.

Alright pals, I've got another question about Old Navy. I was considering a certain sweater that went on sale. A couple days later, it was gone from the screen. So I was assuming it was sold out since it was selling quickly. Then I see it back, but just in one color, in one size. It was my size, don't know WHY I didn't get it, but I like the red better than the blue. So it disappears again. ON has all their sweaters in one section, no sale section I don't think. Now the same sweater is back in red, but only in small. I'm guessing people are returning this sweater and they're re-selling it or people are cancelling their orders? How do they get it back up there so fast? This has all transpired within a week. I may be able to squeeze into a small esp. since their sizes tend to be a bit hodge podge so you don't know anyhow. I'm tempted to get it but I don't want a freakin frackin returned sweater. They wouldn't put returns back up for sale that fast would they?

P.S. It sounded more stupid before I typed it. Now it sounds kind of important, almost like it deserves it own thread or something. We'll see how many answers I get first.
