oh yeah.... when your 3rd message to a woman is "why are you single, you must be picky"? you better not wonder why she doesn't respond!

*snork*

mr. gorgeous is being his usual flakey self...

^^^^not bad manners, just flakey!!!

LOL!

eta. i thought i'd explain the above; he sends LOTS of texts of the most delightfully cryptic nature. and i'm reading them going....

that's all i mean by flakey.

i wonder if this one thinks he's all that....

almost empty profile and this is our ENTIRE exchange before i deleted the last message with no response:

I am liking what I read so far... Drop me a line, and lets see if we click.

why is your profile so empty?

that leaves more to know as we go

you don't give a girl much to work with...

taking the wrapper off the chocolate slowly...is always more fun

plus, the few things he mentions he likes in that profile include sailing and the beach - and i specifically say that i DON'T go out in the sun in mine.

i don't think i'm being *picky* when i want at least SOME interests in common and the ability to carry on a reasonable conversation - even online at first!

You're not being picky here. His line about unwrapping the chocolate slowly sounded a bit sexual to me. Way too soon for that. Move along.....

I'd like to be unwrapped slowly like a good chocolate, but not until I know and am comfortable with a man. Jim's out of town all week. I may suggest that he do this when he gets in Friday night.

I don't date yet, but I have a question: Do thirty year olds "hang out" with eighteen year olds? I don't think so; it sounds creepy to me, but I need advice.

I think I will stay away from him. He's not a teacher, either. Just some guy in a play that I'm in. Funny thing is, he's never really talked to me before. I've greeted him, just to be cordial, and started small talk. But yesterday, he started talking a lot. First thing he said was "So you're an adult now," because I turned eighteen last month. I said yes, technically. Then he said "Are you afraid of me?" I said no, because I'm not, but when he said that, it really creeped me out. So, the conversation continued, taking random topic jumps, from his medical marijuana, to hanging out at this club, and finally to getting my number. At this point, my responses became limited. I had a hunch that he was high, and luckily, a friend of mine came and I pretended that I was looking for her, and left. Am I overreacting? He recently broke up with his girlfriend, and hasn't been the same since.

Always trust your instincts, even if others think you're crazy. He sounds like a loser. He doesn't have many positive things to contribute to your life.

He asked "Are you afraid of me"? What a creep. He knows he's too old and you're too inexperienced. I've gotten this line from older men when I was young. Can't they come up with some new lines? It's like he's daring you to take him on. Stay far away from him. He's nothing but bad news.

This may sound dramatic, but I am pissed off. This guy messaged me on howaboutwe.com, and he seemed to have potential. He is two hours ahead of me as I haven't yet moved to the city in which he resides. We talked on the phone once for two to three hours Thursday. He said he would call Friday. I text him Friday around 5 his time. I didn't receive a phone call or a text.

I am disappointed. I figure he must have a serious girlfriend or wife, or he is not that into me. It just sucks. He is 42. Why bother even contacting me in the first place?

Rou, I swear you need to keep track of all this and write a book.

Have you ever thought of giving up on looking for Mr Right and just go out and get laid? (by someone hot ) If I end up single again that's what I plan to do.

I think this is supposed to be fun. And if you're not enjoying the interaction, then you might want to take a break from it or join a different site or try a different strategy like speed dating or match making or joining a co-ed gym or something.

SL, speed dating RARELY takes women over the age of 40, never mind over 50. they also don't exist in this little town.

i already belong to a co-ed gym, when i am there, i try not to make eye contact with anyone.

and match makers charge a fortune!!!!!
