Yeah, think more Pinky and the Brain, LOL.

I'm a chemist and despite the temptation to use my knowledge to take over the world, I use it for.... (and add something light-hearted and gender neutral)

I'm a chemist and I know that might sound scary to some, but what I really do is learn ways to...(and add something light-hearted and gender neutral)
Ok, so I decided to start very short, for my first installment of using everyone's feedback. I mentioned tendonitis because I'm not full speed and in my mind if someone mentioned getting together for a run I'd feel like I started dishonest. Now I feel like I just over thought that one, then over-shared in attempting to be open and honest when I re-read it too.

So my start is: 31 year old lover of the great outdoors who loves to run, hike, bike, eat, and do yoga.

So let's tear up the greenway or the Parkway this weekend, go for a hike and finish up with a picnic!

I decided to not keep the bees in the written portion of my profile, but add pictures of me holding a frame covered in bees/honey, or just the frame since you would see my hands but my face would be hidden by my veil.

Great start. I would add at least one line that shows a little more of your personality and then you are good to go.

FYI, my profile is long but I get a ton of compliments and lots of people messaging me.

OMG, this reminds me of a guy who messaged me yrs ago. He mentioned in his profile that he was diabetic. That was odd to me. I mean, my BFF is diabetic, too, but it's not one of the first things I think about when she comes to mind. So we started messaging back and forth and he started telling, in great detail, that he was now wearing an insulin pump on his body 24 hrs a day bc his diabetes was getting too hard to manage w/ just the daily shots. (I also know about these insulin pumps from my BFF who had just started wearing one also). He told me that his primary goal in life is to improve his diet, fitness and health to the point that he no longer has to wear the pump and can go back to shots...or dare he even dream, to pills. And then he asked me several times if I could ever see myself dating a guy who wore an insulin pump.

Ummm, yeah maybe...up until I read the last 5 pages of this diatribe about it.

Similarly, this guy who was a bigger guy messaged me. I glanced at his pics and thought he was nice enough looking and we started talking on the phone and discussed going out later that night. Then he hit me w/ the "are you into fat guys? No, I bet a woman like you only dates models and athletes" whammy. And wouldn't stop. And asked me to describe the builds of the last several guys I dated and went on to describe his fitness routine at the gym in excrutiating detail. And wouldn't confirm our dinner plans until I hung up w/ him and logged back onto the site and sized up his pics a second time.

And after that i was like, yeah, I'll pass.

Not that tendonitis compares to this but just the idea of going into health issues or whatever so early has proven not to be the best strategy for getting a date w/ me. LOL

About being honest...if you give your real age and post pics that are actually of you and less than 3 yrs old, I think you are way ahead of the curve! LOL

So things are still going well with this guy! We're going golfing on Monday (haha) and he's cooking me dinner on Wednesday (where I'll also be meeting the family :O).

Side note, with the old pictures thing: that annoys me to no end. I think a couple of years old, if you look the same, is fine. But what's with people posting pictures that are so out-dated and look like they're different people?! Seems like quite an insecure and manipulative thing to do

I don't get it. If you look nothing lije your photos, people will notice. It seems more stupid than manipulative.

I once went out with a guy who had a mix of photos from the present to 10 years ago. Ironically, I thought his present photos looked a lot better, as he looked more like a boy than a man. I wasn't attracted to the younger him.

oh, I should post this picture this guy sent me from some years ago. It was his firefighter picture from when he was in a calendar. He is still cute now, but he looks completely different, LOL
Oh gosh, I posted this in the other thread but lazy and continuing it here, I have a date with my guy again and I'm so nervous. Mainly because he's staying over which I've never preplanned nor have pple stay unless they are bfs and it's been a while, but his place is an hour outside the city. It's going to be so weird having a guy at my place(although I'm super excited)! Oh yea we're going to local historic dive bar tonight.
Josephine, don't give him the milk b4 the cow. You are treading in rough waters here.
From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."
So I think it's been 5 dates now (4? 5? I don't know) and, uhm, yeah . . .

Let's just say things are going well and leave it at that while I giggle to myself in a way I haven't done in years

Ok, so it is amazing how a lot can change in a little amount of time, lol. I finally joined a second dating site in addition to Match (okcupid), and met someone who is so far great. We got along very well messaging so phone numbers were exchanged, and made plans to meet when I was in town for work since I don't really go often. Plans to see again this weekend. =)

I do feel like things have moved at warp speed, but it hasn't gone warp speed in a way that's felt unnatural or wrong to me. Surreal that this is happening yes, but lets hope this stays good.

Congrats to both of you! I gotta say, I'm a little jealous. I've been with my guy a little over a year, and while it is awesome, there is something fun and exciting about starting a new relationship

Best of luck, and keep us posted as I am living vicariously through you haha
