Good luck - let us know how it goes!
Well, I didn't get out a measuring tape but let's just say it's on a scale that I don't believe I have experienced before I certainly believe size isn't everything but it's certainly something when you start talking about outliers ... But, I think I will have to investigate further before coming to a final conclusion
I have seen him again once or twice, I enjoy his company and we get along, so that's good. I may have dates with another guy or two coming up soon, so I'm keeping it all pretty casual at this point.

so, Steve and i did not get to our second date as my great-aunt died that morning and i went to my cousin's house instead.
last Saturday i had a coffee date with someone else. he's older than the people i usually go out with (57) and i'm younger than the age range stated on his profile (cuts off at 52). back in December, i had to drop my age restrictions because i was hosting a New Year party and people have to be able to contact you in order to ask questions.
so Dan sent me an email.
he lives about an hour away in a very small town close to Windsor and we've been chatting online for 3 months without meeting.
about an hour into our coffee date, he calmly says to me "i have a 12-year-old son, is that a problem?"
um.... he couldn't tell me this sometime between now and December???? especially since i specify older teenagers when i say that i'll welcome children.
*sigh*
but wait, it gets better...
a little later he mentions that he's a Conservative and worked for the party back when Mulroney was our prime minister. let's just say that Mulroney and Reagan were birds of a feather and got along *really* well.
and me... well, y'all know where i sit on the political spectrum and i even state in my profile that i'm "ultra-liberal".
there's a reason i don't date conservatives... once they know you have a difference of views when it comes to politics, they start needling at you. and since the weekend, EVERY email has mentioned something about it. i'm pretty sure that it will always come up in EVERY phone conversation, too.
and they needle at you until you tell them to shut up and then they get all smug and say that "liberals have no sense of humour".
UGH!!!!!
i hid my profile... time to stop for a while...

Sorry about your great aunt.
wow, that's some heavy stuff. Maybe he thought I'd be able to convert you or something? Personally, I wouldn't mind dating someone who was more moderate than me (I'm a Green), but I don't think that I could date a conservative either. It would be very difficult.
I haven't been as active on OKC lately. Things with KD have fizzled out, unfortunately and I'm rather bummed out about that. I've had one guy message me for a coffee date but I'm not interested. I think I'm going to be a hermit for awhile

That's too bad Try not to let it get you down, it sucks when things go that way.
Things with the guy I was seeing kind of fizzled out, which is fine. I actually just got back from a date which went really well. We hung out for ~5 hours, had a couple beers, food, and coffee, and just walked around. We hugged at the end, a little kiss, but no concrete plans for a second date. I like him a lot! Now I'm doing that thing where you replay it all in your head and wonder what happens next.
I also have another date tomorrow with a new guy. Big weekend! We are going to a roller derby match which should be lots of fun.

Hermits 4 LIFE
Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. KD txted me late last night as I was getting ready for bed. Apparently, he has been really sick. He apologized for blowing me off, which surprised me because I had already written him off. We didn't talk for a really long time because I had just taken some Benadryl and was getting really sleepy. Just going to play things by ear for now I guess
Cool, another date. Yeah, I've done that whole replaying, analyzing every little word. Maybe things will turn-out. Good luck on your roller derby date. I have never been to one.

yeah, definitely. Technically, I am hermit already because I tend to stay indoors a lot because I'm usually too broke to go and do normal stuff. I spend more time infront of my laptop than I do with actual people most days, aside from my mom. post-grad life

He called me!!! Woo! This is Saturday Guy, the one I really liked. We talked for about an hour and are seeing each other again this week some time.
Roller derby date with Sunday Guy went really well too, but I am not as into him as Saturday Guy. Sunday is hilariously funny though, which I like. We haven't set up a second date yet though.

I think I'm going to give up on this. Most of the guys around me on PoF are chavs. I know you shouldn't judge people by appearences but when the picture is them flipping the bird, trying to look all macho with stupid zigzags in their hair, wearing grotty tracksuits, I'm going to click the back button.
Ho hum

yeah, that would put me right off it too!
i was at the market last night and ran into Steve!
i'm busy tonight and he's busy tomorrow, so we're going to try to get together next weekend.
i forgot how handsome he is - his hair is pure white and he has the most intense green eyes.

Sounds verrrrry promising! What a serendipitous encounter!
I had a second date with roller derby guy (we went on a 23-mile bike ride) which was fine but I just wasn't feeling it so I cut him loose.
Haven't had a second date yet with the other guy - he is in Seattle for 10 days and we just didn't have time before he left. We've had several long telephone conversations though, he has even asked me how I feel about having kids and we talked about our various family dysfunctions and other pretty personal stuff. I am really into him. I know it's hard to tell in such a short time but he seems to be pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Definitely the most promising out of all the dates I've had so far. Now I just have to be patient until he gets back from his trip!

I haven't been doing the online dating thing, but hope I can post here.
Last Friday night I went to a club by myself. 1st time ever. I thought I would feel uncomfortable, but I didn't. I had a great time with 7 different men. I have heard it's best that women go out alone. Men feel intimidated with groups of women. They may want to ask someone to dance, but feel the others may be offended. This holds true with just 2 girls together.
Well, anyway I'm talking to all of them and emailing. There is one in particular that I'm interested in and will see where it goes.

Thanks, Wile. He called today, but I couldn't talk very long because it was my granddaughter's b'day. We talked maybe 20 minutes. He said he will call me tomorrow. I'd like to see him tomorrow just to make sure. He's very interesting. He use to own an exotic pet store in Malibu. I just recently purchased 2 parakeets and I'm trying to tame them and he's offered to help me. He's a realtor now. He owns a home in a gated neighborhood not far from me.

that's awesome, divegirl! glad that things are going well for you.
@ lotsa, good luck!
Not much going on with me. Decided I'm going to date around for awhile. KD and I still txt but idk what's going to happen with that. This other guy messaged me the other day. He seems kind of interesting.
