Default WOW mens' 100m final!!!!!

Sorry... spoiler alert for those who didn't see it live....

The first Jamaican ever to win a gold... and TRINIDAD got silver and had two finalists! It was almost an all-Caribbean final! (I feel bad for Asafa Powell, though - looks like nerves got the better of him.)

CBC showed the Jamaican TV station - they were so poor they had to broadcast from a little trailer outside the track! SO happy for our islands today!!!!!

CNN.com had the results splashed all over their front page....which ticked me off, 'cuz I was gonna watch it tonight. I didn't expect an American to win it anyway.

I might watch it anyway just so I can see Ato Bolden do commentary....yum....

Bolt of Lightning indeed! he has such a great career ahead of him, too.

LOVED the interview he did with Donovan Bailey on CBC!

Yeah, Ato is another great Trini. We had commentary by a Jamaican-Canadian cutie - the great Donovan Bailey.

Too bad that you don't get live coverage in the US - it's going to be hard not to hit a lot of spoilers on line.

The New York Times did too.

I don't like the way the Olympics are being covered on NBC. It's like all they ever show is swimming.

they had ladies' gymnastics on live at 4:30 on Friday morning!

(obviously, i couldn't sleep...)

i seem to remember more than a few curlies who live in border cities saying over the past 9 years that i've been a member here that they prefer to watch Olympic coverage on the cdn stations when they can...

Yeah, this has been hands-down the worst Olympics coverage I can remember. I'm getting kind of tired of hearing about Michael Phelps (and I love watching swimming!). And they've done a terrible job of letting viewers know what time events will be covered. I don't think it can be blamed solely on the time difference, either.

I am so proud of my Island boys right now. Jamaica's Independence was last weekend so I'm sure their celebrations will be continuing. Richard's silver is an early Independence Day gift to his country. Big up guys!! Well done!!!

I am suddenly in the mood to hear Trini 2 de Bone

Just saw this on NBC. What a race! He was so far ahead of everyone else.

I also have to admit that I enjoyed looking at Walter Dix.

It's great to see how happy the crowd is for them.

Hee! You would know Mr. Head.

All kidding aside, that was a nice race to watch, although the commentators did have to comment that Bolt could've had a better time if he would not have pulled up. Like breaking the WR wasn't enough?

That was a nice race. Bolt is fast. And yeah, the commentators were -- I don't know. I'm watching them gush over Dara Torres and Michael Phelps (deservedly). But they seem somewhat abrupt with Bolt and the American silver medalist. Maybe it's just that Bob Costa is so good.

I'm confused. None of the medal winners in that event were African. To whom are you referring?
