I don't think they're that bad at all, personally. But I definitely prefer the black.

On first glance I was like "uh, YEA!" but I looked a little longer and now I think they're kind of cute!

Ooh, I like them a lot more in black. I like them quite a bit, actually.

Yep. I actually need to be able to WALK places. It really annoys me when I go out with friends who insist on wearing shoes they can't even walk ten blocks in, and we have to cab it even for such a short distance. Most of them end up changing into flip flops by the end of the night anyway, so what's the point?

that's what happened with me..
maybe there are subliminal messages somewhere in that picture. "these are cute shoes. you want to buy these shoes. they are not for "nana", they are for YOU."
maybe it's in the stitching... or in that little design on the insoles..

hmmm.

I found these Tevas in two colors and ordered them. They don't kill my feet and this color limits me in terms of what I can wear but if you saw these on someone's feet, would your first thought be, "fugly?"
What about the Chacos? They have some cute fugly sandals too. I wear them... my feet love me.

The red ones she posted are cuter than Chacos IMO. I have Chacos and while comfortable, I would say the red sandals are less sporty and would go with everyday wear easier.

I second that Yogottaloveyacurls... I love these things. I have the Flip ones with the leather insole, it is so soft...they feel like house slippers.

The black ones look better imo.

On a side note Teva is a company that makes generic medication here in the UK, so I was thinking 'when did they start making shoes?' thinking they'd started making generic prescription orthopedic shoes.

I've tried Dansko, Sofft, Born and Chacos through Zappos. I had real problems with Chacos and Dansko. The high arch supports in their shoes really dig into my flat arches.

I have flat feet, too. And they're wide. So all I ever wear is sneakers. I don't even have any comfortable shoes for special events.

Shoes look much different on than off. I'd get them in tan or black and you can wear them with a lot of different clothes.

I have high arches and the Dansko is very uncomfortable on my feet...almost painful.

I have a pair of Sofft, which aren't very soft or comfortable.

Born...eh...OK.

I haven't tried Chacos (never heard of them).

I am also in the market for a new pair of shoes, but they have to be sort of dressy for work.

I prefer the black ones and I do not think they are fugly at all. This comes from someone who has had five previous toe surgeries; so, emphasis is on comfort for me. I almost always buy open toed shoes for summer or mules for winter and pointy shoes are a big no-no for me so I understand your shoe envy!

Question

Reading through this, I have to ask if everyone here is wearing cute shoes at all times. It's a serious question--what do you wear on weekends when you're running errands, for example. I wear cute shoes at my job, but the ones I wear when I ride the metro on the way to work (when I'm doing a lot of walking) are not the same as the ones I wear once I'm at work.

To me, the ones medussa posted look comfortable, and not necessarily cute, but I can't see how they're ugly. They look like a decent compromise between function and form.

I do - at least shoes that I think are cute. Running around on weekends I'll wear cute flats, wedge heel sandals, mules, skecher type sneakers sometimes, that kind of thing. I personally don't wear the type of shoes medussa posted because they're too plain and utilitarian for me - but I also don't have foot problems yet.

ditto..

who the heck would be looking at your feet when your gorgeous self -- and amazingly beautiful children -- are right there to be looking at..
