Default Breasts!!! (somewhat...adult)

When did your breasts stop growing???! Do your breasts have a growth spurt after your teen years or something???

My breasts have gotten bigger in the past 2 months and I don't know what's going on with them! My boyfriend, of course, is really happy about it but I'm freaking out! I'm 19 going on 20 and my breasts should've stopped growing by now, right? I'm not on any birth control pills (yet...) I'm not pregnant, and I'm a health conscious vegetarian so I can't be gaining any weight!

Girls, help me out! Have you had a similar problem with your breasts?

You've ruled out pregnancy... how do you *know* you're not pregnant? Are you having sex?

It's possible you're just growing, although I though I was just growing and it turned out I was just gaining weight and was in denial. Not saying that's what's up with you, but it sure as shiit is what happened to me, at about your age, too.

A dramatic change in size in a short period of time to me screams "pregnant" so if you're sexually active I'd pee on a stick, just to be sure. Otherwise it's probably just a hormonal thing (hormone levels in your body are constantly changing) and is totally normal.

I haven't had this problem, but it might just be your hormones resulting in the growth of your breast tissue. When did you start puberty? Maybe this is sort of a delayed puberty response.

BTW, I've been the same bra size since high school. Shoot, I'm almost 5 months preggers and my boobs haven't gotten much bigger!

The only time between around 16 and now that my breasts grew was when I was pregnant. It's possible that you're having some kind of second growth spurt, which can be possible in your early 20s...I remember reading some where that we really don't stop growing until mid 20's it's just at a VERY slow rate.

If you're having sex, I wouldn't entirely rule out pregnancy, though.

Any other odd feelings? Do they feel "tingly" at all, or are you having any kind of cramping, but no period is showing up?

And...even "health conscious vegetarians" can gain weight if they are consuming more calories than they are burning.

I had a "growth" spurt between 19 and 20 - no pill, no weight gain, no pregnancy. I figured I was just a late bloomer.

I was a late bloomer so I was still growing at 19. Between hormones, weight changes and pregnancy, I've had size changes several times in my life. I usually notice any weight gain there first for some reason.

I got bigger in my early twenties. I guess I was a late bloomer -- or bloomed a bit and then bloomed more later?? I was shocked!

Techincally, breasts stop growing 2-3 years after the onset of puberty. However, this doesn't mean they won't change in the slightest. You could be gaining weight and just not yet showing it anywhere else. Being a vegetarian won't stop weight gain as we age.

This happened to a friend of mine - she went away to college wearing an A-cup and came back wearing a full C! She was definitely what you'd call a "late bloomer" - she didn't get her period until she was 16.

Ahhh what a relief! I'm a bit of a late bloomer as well so maybe that's why. I didn't start growing any boobies until I was well into 15. I stopped around 17, now nearly 3 years later I'm hitting another "spurt" it seems. I've grown like half a cup size! My bras are tight!

On a side note: I know I'm not pregnant because I failed 3 pregnancy tests, got my period, and used condoms every time. I'm not gaining weight because I still weigh the same as I was 2 months ago.

I grew between 20 and 21 and again sometime around 25 and again in my late 20's. I'm not pregnant or fluxuating in weight. I was a late bloomer in my teens so It's probably still ironing itself out!

You're a vegetarian...do you eat a lot of soy? If so, what types of soy?

Eating a lot of soy can contribute to that. I found this out after I switched to soy milk to be "healthier". Freaked me out enough to switch back to dairy.

I was actually a very early bloomer with my breast starting at about 8 years old. They stopped at about 15 at 34B, but are now at 28, a 34C. I attribute some of that to my weight-lifting, though

Good point...I forgot about how soy can affect female hormones.

Dunno about specific "types" of soy, but yeah, I do eat a lot of it. I drink soymilk almost everyday and I eat a lot of tofu and vegetarian soy products at least once a week. Does soy really have that affect on your hormones???
