Jean length question

So, I've been drooling over 7 for all mankind jeans for a few years, and I finally got a pair today (a gift from my grandma... I didn't want to let her buy them for me but she said they made my butt look great and insisted ). The store at which I got them does free hemming (they told me to bring them home and wash them first), but I'm not sure what length to go to. Here are the jeans:

I'd love to hem them for a high heel so I could wear them for a big night out since they're so fabulous, but I rarely wear my highest heels anymore (and nights out are rare/never). In the summer I usually wear flip-flops or a 2-ish inch platform sandal. In the fall/winter I wear 2.5-ish inch heeled boots or flats.

Should I hem them for the boots and then let them drag for flat shoes? If they were straight-leg I'd hem them for the heels then wear them cuffed with flats, but I don't think bootcuts really work for that.

Basically, I want to maximize the usefulness of these jeans because I love them so. Is there any chance of being able to wear them with flats and medium heels, or should I just pick one or the other?

I think you're gonna have to pick.

What shoe will you be wearing the most? That could be the length that you get the most wear from. I don't like jeans too long because they will fray on the bottom from dragging, so I have jeans that I only wear with heels.
I'd go with the shorter hem. If you don't roll them over and wear flats you might end up in that awful hem-ripping-off-the back situation, and I know you don't want that.

I think you're going to have to pick. You mentioned 2 and 2.5 inch heals/platforms so why not go for that. Besides, summer will be over in a month or so. Depending on how Autumn goes, you may not be wearing flip flops out much longer. Nice jeans btw.

I would go for the lower heeled hem as that is what you said you would wear more. If you really love the jeans you will want to wear them often.
I'd say hem them longer. If you need them shorter for flat shoes, cuff them like this. But I'm not much of a fashionista, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I rarely wear jeans in the summer, so I got them hemmed for my boots. If I wear them these days, they're fine with a higher sandal but flats are out of the question.
The 'rule of thumb' I heard is to hem them so that they JUST touch the ground in back when you are barefoot.

I really was tired last night. I just realized that's a back view. The heels give it away...lol!

pixie..

i wear my 7s with flats and with heels (well kitten heels).. they are the perfect length for my heels, but when i wear them with flip flops or flats i have to cuff them.. i sometimes cuff them up, other times i cuff them inside so the cuff isn't seen.. they actually hold the cuff really well (it doesn't slip)..

how high of heels are you talking? would you be able to go with the heel length and then cuff them a couple of inches for flats?

I always try on the heels I am wearing with them and pin them up then try them on with flats and I can usually come up with a happy medium where they look good with the heels but they are not fraying on the ground with flats/flip flops. I do a lot of trying on each pair and adjusting as I go.
HG's: (I alternate)
DEP Sport Gel, B&A Gel, Aura Naturalle Gel
(gel from mid-length down only, all used over a leave in)

Method: Air dry 20 minutes, then blow dry for volume.

2/3 mix waves/curls - coarse, frizz prone, med. thick, porous, at-home color for gray, protein sensitive but I still need it sometimes, glycerin-sensitive (I think) in high humidity, NOT CG but like stuff w/o silicones and that rinses out clean, wash with regular S&C 2x a week.
I keep all of my jeans long so they look good no matter what size heel of shoe. I either cuff them with flats or let them drag a bit. But I've got pretty long legs, so most jeans are not too long for me. Depending on your inseam, I'd be tempted to keep them long.
Loose botticelli curls and waves
No silicones/no sulfates since March 2008
No real opinion on the length, just wanted to chime in and agree...7's and Citizens of Humanity jeans both do things for my butt than no other jeans can do...those two are all I'll wear now!!

Congrats on your awesome jeans!!

It depends on what shoe you will be wearing more. With nice jeans I like to wear them more with heels and I prefer them long.
