Default Question for those who have been pregnant

Before you confirmed your pregnancy with a test of some kind did you "just know" you were pregnant or did you have no idea?

I'm just curious because my hubby and I are trying to have a baby. I went off the pill in June, had one period when I was supposed to and now I haven't had one since then..I was due for one last week.

I also know that going off the pill can make your cycle irregular for a while so I know there is a good chance I'm not pregnant but I want to take a test anyway. I don't feel like I'm pregnant...but I guess how would I know right?

I never felt pregnant. I never had morning sickness, tiredness, or anything to indicate that I was pregnant. I actually felt better than ever and wouldn't have believed it without seeing the ultrasound in the beginning.

I had been off the pill for less than two weeks when I got pregnant. It wasn't planned and I thought I was safe because I'd always heard it took months to get fertility back after stopping bc.

Take a test if you're late. You can be irregular after going off the pill but still be just as fertile.

Just pee on a stick and find out. I was in a similar situation - I went off the pill, then the first month my period came after 34 days, and the second month I waited until a week past 34 days to test and it turned positive while I was still peeing
I didn't really feel different at all, but of course since we were trying, I convinced myself that every little thing my body did was a sign I was pregnant.

If you're a week past due, just take the test.

Oh yes I plan on taking a test for sure..I guess I was wondering not only about the physical signs but also about the "gut feeling" that some people have about some things.

My best friend got pregnant just weeks after going off the pill and she kept insisting she was pregnant, she said she just knew. Well sure enough she was right! But she was also convinced she was having a boy and was wrong!

I'm just curious about other peoples' experiences more than anything

I did have telltale signes like larger breast and that facial 'glow' that some ladies have. It wasn't obvious to me at first but breast tenderness did set in at about the end of my first trimester.

My breasts felt achy but that was about it.

Absolutely!

With my son, and I know it sounds odd and untrue, but I felt the implantation - like a stick pin being stuck into me, but on the inside. Weird. After that, I had cramping, but no period ever showed.

With my daughter, my breasts felt weird. Not achy, or getting bigger, just tingling, and kind of "alive." I remembering emailing my husband saying, "I think I am pregnant." He didn't believe me, that it was too soon, and I peed on a stick everyday (sometimes two and three times a day) for up to 10 days and FINALLY got a positive one. (I bought a bunch at the dollar store).

It was like - Ohhhhh crap!

I had what felt like exaggerated PMS (tired, super sore breasts, cravings), and yet, no period in sight. I took the test but I already suspected something was amiss well before then.

I was actively trying to conceive each time, and each time I felt implantation cramping and knew I was pregnant before taking the test. Of course, I always felt unsure, because that implantation cramping feels an awful lot like premenstrual cramps...except the period never shows up.

Just take a test.

Incredible craving for oranges, and I hate oranges. My mother (who I had just met a couple of years earlier) had the same exact cravings with me.

I remember it so clearly, driving down the road and getting that overwhelming craving, thinking "oh sheet", and making the appt. I didn't even bother with a pg test.

I had many symptoms that should have been indications to me that I was pregnant but was in total denial at the time. Mainly because hubby and I had only had unprotected sex ONE TIME so any time I would think that maybe I was I would push the thought right out of my mind.

Looking back almost right from the start I was extremely tired for no apparent reason and smells (normal everyday smells) would really bother me.

I still had a light period my first "missed" period (if that makes sense) so that help feed my denial.

This reminds me- I started to crave beef. Before I found out I was pg I ate my boyfriends entire barbacoa burrito which you couldn't pay me to do now.

nope. But I was peeing on stuff ridicously early though. I am the least hormonal person ever though, if they had not handed me a baby 9mo later.... I had zero symptons.

Just pee on a stick- you can get them for a dollar at the $ store.
