Any east coasters?

If there are any of you along the east coast, stay safe from Hanna.
I just looked and saw the tropical storm wind and flood watch for tomorrow morning through Sunday morning. This will be my first tropical storm, and I have to work tomorrow night. I'm going to ask to carpool, because if roads flood, I don't know my way around here yet to figure out where to go. They're even talking tornadoes. I don't like living alone when they have these kinds of forecasts...

ETA: I'm in the northeast, but not far from the coast, apparently.
Under construction.

I work in emergency power systems (backup generators) and lemme tell ya, people here (MD/VA/DE) are wigging right the fark out. People we've been telling for months need repairs on their equipment are suddenly chomping at the bit to get things done TODAY. It's insanity.

I live west of Baltimore, so while I expect we'll get heavy rain and strong winds, we don't usually get super big problems as a result of hurricanes. Frankly, I'm looking forward to a weekend where I can spend the whole thing in bed and no one will expect me to leave my house. I'm just getting over my annual end-of-summer cold and for pete's sake, I need some SLEEP.
"And politically correct is the worst term, not just because it’s dismissive, but because it narrows down the whole social justice spectrum to this idea that it’s about being polite instead of about dismantling the oppressive social structure of power.
Fun Fact: When you actively avoid being “PC,” you’re not being forward-thinking or unique. You’re buying into systems of oppression that have existed since before you were even born, and you’re keeping those systems in place."

I am east coast but northeast. They are saying we will get rain and wind at the coast. I feel so bad for the people in Haiti and the Turks/Caicos - this thing just sat on that area for days and now Ike is headed there too. They have so little. I wish our news stations would focus a bit more on how these islands are impacted by these storms - typically they are hit much harder than they hit the United States and we have so many more resources when they do.

Flooding is going to be a big problem for y'all up the coast. She just skirted our coast this morning, and dumped alot more rain down here, but at least the wind was minimal...get your sandbags ready if you're in low-lying areas, and be safe...
I live in the DC area.. The weather guy is saying rain comes in tonight after 10ish.. Rain all day tomorrow and into tomorrow night!! 4-8 inches in some locations!! FUN FUN FUN!!!

Sending hubby and BIL out (since both at home today) to get extra batteries, flashlights (we only have one) and maybe some candles....

Stay safe all! Hanna missed us, but I'm a bit worried about Ike. They're just coming one right after the other.

Hanna's going to miss the Georgia coast, I'm glad the coast was spared but we sure could use some more rain inland over Lake Lanier. Everyone in Hanna's path, be safe!

I'm in the Northeast and attending a friend's wedding tomorrow. I feel so bad about the weather. Every bride dreams of a beautiful wedding day. Everything is indoors and she's in good spirits about it, but I just hope it's not a complete monsoon.

Weather guy said 40+MPH winds and 5 inches of rain, but we shall see. We're minutes from the coast so I'm not really sure what to expect, but am supposed to find out starting late tonight on into tomorrow afternoon.

I thought I left this sorta mess behind when I moved from FL??

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Carolina girl here and the direction keeps shifting. The projections have it landing between the Carolinas at or around midnight. My daughter and I went to the grocery store and stocked up just in case the winds knock power out. The rains were pretty heavy tonight while we were out.

We're under wind advisory and flash flood warning until 4pm tomorrow. My hometown, where my family still resides is under tornado watch in addition to the flash flood until tomorrow around 2.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers please! Thanks everyone!
We have a Tropical Storm Wind Warning and a Flood Watch. I'm in southeastern PA, so we're not getting the direct hurricane, but the edges of it. I live on a hill so that makes me feel a bit better but I'm not too worried to begin with. I just hope it doesn't get worse.

The weird thing is that this hurricane is my name, same spelling and all.

Celebrate we will, 'cause life is short but sweet, for certain.
Well, it's almost over with. I think the eye is almost here, and I think the weather guy said it will be out of state by about 11:00 AM. It's really not that bad, we only had the power flicker twice.
