Toes Hanging Off Shoes

Do your toes hang over the front of shoes? Lately, I've been noticing that some women's toes will be a smidge longer than their shoes -- sandles mostly, but occasionally some sort of peep toe. Is it that their shoes don't fit, or are their toes long? Or am I just now noticing something that happens regularly? My shoes don't do this, and I think I have pretty long toes, but I also have big feet and wear big shoes to match.
I have short toes (short everything really), so that never happens to my shoes. I don't like the look on other people with toes hanging over...yuck...buy a larger size please.
When I went on my Zappos sandal quest this summer, that happened to me a few times. In my case, it meant the shoe ran small. There should be some room in the event your foot slides forward. I always order a 1/2 size up if that happens.
I have to be careful that this doesn't happen. I have long toes and big feet, and the middle toe is longer than my big toe. Sandals can look fine when I'm sitting down, but if they're too short, the toes will hang over when I stand up.

So, I have to have sandals that look too big when I'm seated. Can't stand the toe-hangover.

ETA: This can all be solved if you wear toe-hats. No one will notice the shoes. Ask Lisa.

Toes do not belong outside of the shoes. Nope. Buy bigger.

If you buy shoes which fit that way, you need to start trying them on!

Where I see it is on the red carpet. These celebs are given super expensive shoes to wear, so they don't always fit just right.

Sometimes, though, straps which hold your feet in place stretch as you wear the shoes, especially with leather. Then your feet can slide so your toes are hanging over the edge when the shoes fit right initially.

I don't have any shoes where my toes hang over the edge.

But at least the pews never attend yoga!
I've even seen it in flat sandles. And the toes were far enough over the edge, she could have picked up loose change on the street with her toes. I was like

So then a few minutes later, I see someone in peep toe shoes, and it's like she has a claw sticking out at the end. At least they were heels, and maybe she had slid down in them, but I have no understanding of those flat sandles.

I have that happen sometimes if the length is right, but the width is too wide, so my foot slides out. I have to watch to buy the proper shoe width as well as length.

However, I read somewhere that if your middle toe is longer than your big toe, it is a sign you are intelligent. At least intelligent enough not to wear the peep-toes!

I haven't got the slightest idea how to change people, but I still keep a long list of prospective candidates just in case I should ever figure it out.

Hanging off the front or back is just horrible to look at and probably feels incredibly bad. Plus, if you wear them enough, you're going to build up callouses in strange places on your feet.

Don't do it... in heels, flats, wedges, whatever you wear!

I have long toes so sometimes they can hang over depending on the style. I can't get a larger size or else it's too big everywhere else especially since I have slim feet. I don't like the hanging over look so I just don't get them and have to stick to styles that have more room in the front . It's so hard for me to find cute peep toed shoes because of this too.
I sometimes get this when I wear flip flops. My toes are pretty long and I wear a size 12, so it's not like I can go a size up. Maybe I'm used to it, because it doesn't really bother me much.

Improperly fit shoes is one of my big pet peeves. I understand that the toe hangover can be hard to avoid (width, stretching issues, too short a vamp etc.). But a lot of the time it happens because people just "have" to squash into those shoes. I used to fit dance shoes so I know what damage improperly fit shoes can do. I don't get how people could stand to walk around in them with their toes rubbing on the pavement.

What equally annoys me are the heels that are obviously too big with a huge gap in the heel so that in order to walk in them they have to clomp around. It's not hot and it's so bad for your feet! It's a broken ankle waiting to happen. I know blisters hurt but line the back with moleskin or get those blisterblock bandaids!
no. i dont like seeing it and i dont let it happen to me. go up a size.
I have shorter toes and wide feet too, so I rarely would have that problem. But my sister has long toes and narrow feet. She can't always go larger because then her feet swim in the shoes, but she does wear those pads that go under the balls of the feet to take up room and keep those toes back.

I hate seeing toes touching the ground. yuck!
