Yes, I love this stuff!

Since I'm still not supposed to bend, twist, stoop or lift anything I'm going to have to to bribe my husband to get the decorations out and help supervise him as he puts everything out

Hopefully I'll have the energy to carve a great jack-o-lantern again this year!

All my Halloween decorations are behind my Chrsitmas decorations in storage and I am just not up to diggin them out. Besides, when I was a kid I was always trying to get my mom to do those cheesy trashbag wreaths and black construction paper cut outs for windows and "crafty" Good Housekeeping type stuff. We might just have a cheesy construction paper and window paint halloween.

I can't use most of my stuff for a long while, since my kid is now scared of everything, but here's some links to photos of Halloweens past where I went waaaaay overboard (a lot was homemade, so let me know if you want details on anything):

Indoor and outdoor decorations
Mostly outdoor decorations

That must have taken you days to put all that stuff up & even longer to take it down. It looks pretty scary.

How did you do the bloody footprints and handprints on the towels?

It did take forever, especially all those bats! But I usually did it over a period of a week or so, so it wasn't too bad. Funny thing is that taking it all down never took as long.

I wanted something that would stand up to being washed, so I used red spray paint. I sprayed a whole bunch of it into a bowl, and while wearing rubber gloves, stuck my hands into the bowl to cover the gloves and then went to town on the towels and shower curtain. Anything left over I just wiped on the towels. It was messy, and the red wasn't as bright as I would have liked, it was pretty effective. We replaced all the bathroom lights with red bulbs too. The overall effect was really creepy - no one wanted to use that bathroom during the parties!

ETA: The footprints on the floor and handprints on the walls were clear sticky decals I found at a party store.

My stepfather is an old monster movie buff, so Halloween is a Big Event at my mom and stepdad's house! A scarecrow in the yard, pumpkins on every flat surface that isn't occupied by a cat, paper bats hanging from the ceiling....

I saw something in a magazine that I might suggest to them this year though. Since they have so many cats (8 or 9 at last count), they could carve one of the pumpkins into a "mouse motel" and stick catnip mousies in it for the cats!

The mice would check in...but they wouldn't check out!

Thanks guys. Naturally that was all before I had kids. If only I had that kind of time these days...

Pickles that looks awesome!!!

I have a broom and some purple/orange lights around my front door. Then I have this craft I did from Martha Stewart, a witch's curtain. It looks pretty cool. We're going to the pumpkin patch this weekend

I can now laugh at you. The neighbors down the street has a freaking Macy's Day parade of those blow up things. We live a bit high up so it's windy...when those things are up I keep hoping they will blow away.

I've never really done much outside for Halloween because we've usually lived where nobody could see it anyway AND I try to limit my Fall & Halloween decor to what will fit in one storage tote since we move around every few years. This year we live in a populated 'hood and I thought I'd do a little extra. My spooky DH drew some hissing cats and bats for me which I cut out and I put up in the window.

Please excuse the super crappy night photo.
