what do single guys do on saturday afternoon?

thanks girls!!! how ironic is it that about an hour after i typed my op a guy friend of mine called and said he was going to a sports bar and asked if i wanted to meet him!!! i went. we had a nice time and i got to drink bud light which i love there weren't lot of single guys in there but i did see a few and it was cool and laid back. i think the sports bars will be a place i'll check out more often.

today i sat by a really cute guy at church. this was our 2nd time sitting by each other but i saw him in the gym last week so i had something to say to him. i told him i saw him in the gym when i was teaching cycle. he kept looking in the class (but he was looking at the students not at the teacher, ha ha)...anyway we chatted it up in church when we could. it felt so great to have a positive exchange and i have a feeling there may be more!!

anyway, back to single guys on the weekend. i think i need to branch out because the grocery story by my house is very family oriented and single gay guys. i once read about going shopping in another neighborhood. seems like a lot of work but i'm ready to meet new people.

phoenix, i am a very big proponent of doing the things i like, i definitely do that!!! but at some point i realized i'm in a routine and not meeting new folks so that's why i put the question out there. i totally like my life but i want to meet someone to share it with!!

partyhair, i've heard about single guys and fishing...i don't fish though so i'll have to pass on that one. love the idea about the golf range. i don't play but maybe i could learn....

i won't be meeting the video game guys....probably for the best since i like active guys!

i'm about to either go to the gym or the dog park....because i want to but maybe they'll be some single cuties there

In my experience.....

ex-husband: watched sports, cooked, got mad at me for something.

ex-fiance: sports, defecation, and beer. Oh, and brooded.

current male dog: follows me around, farts.

i ended up doing a combination of the dog park and the gym. i went to a regular park with a 3 mile trail with my dogs on a lease. there were some cute guys, some with dogs too. my boys get quite a bit of attention! anyway, no love connections but a fun afternoon and something i think i'll try to do on sunday afternoons.

i'll look into golf lessons soon too!

I'm glad to hear you are feeling more positive, even if there haven't been any 'love connections' perse. I was going to suggest a dog park also--I see alot of guys by themselves at the one near me.

Have you tried any online dating? Jsut another avenue to explore perhaps.

BTW, your 2 little doggies are just sooo darn cute! I love all dogs, but have a soft spot for those little terriers.
I have no idea in which town or city you live in, but if it's a big enough city, why not try swing or salsa dancing? Most places offer an hour lesson at the beginning and you could find a DVD that teaches basics. It's fun and adds something different to your routine. The cities where I would dance -- St. Louis and Phoenix -- always had single guys. There are usually a variety of people -- ages, ethnicities, couples, singles. I also second the idea of using Meetup.com or Meet-in.com.

thanks LAwoman! i love my boys. they are so sweet. they were pooped from walking at the park then getting baths last night. i did online dating before. i think i'll give it another try. i'm also trying to spend more time out on the gym floor and not just rushing into class then leaving the gym. trying to make time to talk to folks in the gym.

hey multicultcurly, i'm in the 4th largest city in the us so there should be dancing options. that's a good idea. i LOVE to dance so that might be fun. i will check out meetup.com for interesting groups this week.

Saturday night my DH and I went to Barnes and Noble and hung out in the coffee shop. I noticed tons and I mean tons of single guys! I never thought of that when I was single. Do you have one near you?

Sleep and watch football. You might hit up a Buffalo Wild Wings or some other sports bar/restaurant. Also a lot of them go to the gym on the weekends.
i actually like the bookstore (too much) but i wouldn't think guys would be there on weekend nights but i'll check it out!!

you know i was thinking about buffalo wild wings. there's one in a popular part of town here. i think the gym is good but seriously they must not come out until later in the afternoon because when i'm there for my 9 am class it's all married men!!! i guess they have to work out early and get back to do their honey-do's
