Spring semester started a week ago. This semester I want to get better grades, bring my GPA back up and enjoy my courses. Last semester was probably my worst in the 3 years I've been in school. I'm kind of done with many of the courses I hate (have maybe only half of them left). Last semster it was 5 horrible courses and only one good one. This semester it's 3 bad, 3 good. I'm really enjoying some of them, like Business Law, E-marketing, Creative Execution for Integrated Marketing Communications. Even managerial accounting is not that bad (for now anyways). On the last day of drop and add I finally decided to drop the course I registered for with that professor. Not because I got a bad grade, because I didn't, but it was such a relief to drop it. So I'm guessing I'm taking classes with somewhat sane professors this semester (I hope). I already have a presentation next week , but I'm actually sort of looking forward to it.

I hope it's going to be a good semester this semester

Well, I haven't been in school for a looong while, but I registered for 2 courses at a school close to my job for this semester (it's my little secret )
I'm just so excited to be going back! I will still be working full time (so noooo one here has to know) and at school 4x/week.
When these courses are complete, I can officially apply for nursing school.

My goal is to just get through it. I will be one busy, busy lady!! But, I figure it's only 6 months, it's completely worth the end result and I will be so proud of myself and much happier in the long run.

Shh, don't tell about my life-change plan. :P

I went to nursing school at night, and tried to keep it secret from my boss and co-workers. The secret didn't last long. LOL...it was too hard to hide that I was burning my candle at both ends.

I won't be able to get into nursing until 2011, 2010 if someone drops their place.
At that point I won't be working anymore, I will be in school FT. I think I'd be a hot mess if I tried to do something that big in secret, in the evenings.
I have had these plans in the works for a looong time!
This is just my first step.
The only person that knows is my manager. He is really encouraging and said "let me know if you need anything!"
I know that no one would mind, but I don't want people to use it against me in any way. It is MY thing and I'm very proud of myself

I was in nursing school full-time, at night, and kept my full-time day job, plus I was a single mom. I needed to support myself, and needed my employer to pay for my school, so I had no option to quit. Yes, I was a hot mess and the secret only lasted 1 semester. It did affect my work performance, bigtime. I did my job, but nothing extra. I didn't get any bonus those years, or any 'at-a-girl pats on the back either. I was just happy they didn't fire me, so in that respect my boss was supportive. The point of going to school was to get out of my job anyway, so it all worked out.

I start nursing school tomorrow!! I hope that working full time and going to school full time works out for me. My employer does know I'm going and has been willing to work with me so far. I'm sure it will be rough but I really need to do it for myself. I have to maintain a C to stay in school and to get work to pay for it so that will be a good chunk of my motivation.

I like that you said you want to ENJOY your classes. Now that its my last semester of undergrad (I know, don't remind me!) I truly want to make the most out of every class and fully enjoy them! Also, I want to keep up my GPA of course....

My biggest goal this semester is to find a job for after graduation.

I just started this spring after being out of school for TWENTY SIX YEARS!! The first day I was totally overwhelmed but now I'm settling in a bit.. My resolution is to be the best that I can be.
