I used to have a poster of Kevin Bacon in my room when I was a teenager. He's a cutie.
As far as the food bacon...I still love it!

Has anyone tried the meat-free bacon?
Is it like... gross.. or what?
I admit.
I miss bacon.
I had kind of a bacon craze for awhile years ago where I was buying boxes and boxes of that pre-cooked bacon. Omg. I'm surprised I'm still alive.
seriously. It was almost as bad as my crack cookie addiction from WAY back.
so yeah... um. meat-free bacon? Gross? or what?

Yeah, it's gross.
There is no substitute. I had bacon the other day. I don't typically eat meat. But when I really want some, I will get it at this locavore/shishi/organic/compost everything restaurant here in town. It's one of the few places that has meat that meets all my many requirements [local, free-range, organic feed, yadayadaydada …]
I went out to eat a few weeks ago to a restaurant that's known for good vegetarian options, like "meat" loaf and stuff. They also have regular food, like real meatloaf.
Anyway halfway through the meal, the waitress comes around with free baskets of bacon for anyone who wants one. It was crazy. There were like 8 strips of bacon in there. Some sort of happy hour deal. My dining companion ate what he could. We had to leave the rest. More than half.
I live in very weird country. On the one hand: yeah, that's fun, and it's free and whatever. On the other hand: what a ****ing waste, ya know?
I have trouble with people who waste any food, but especially meat. It's so disrespectful of the animals that were killed so you [gy] could eat. And the fact that meat is the least efficient form of nourishment we have and is very hard on the planet to raise, feed, transport, etc.
I'm just sayin'. Enjoy it, but maybe give a second's thought and be grateful for it. To all those omnivores out there. [I say omni because unless you only eat meat, you are not a carnivore — people seem to get confused on that point.]

It's BLT mania at our house right now. We've cooked bacon on the grill the last few times so I don't have to be tortured with the lingering smell of it inside. It worked great! It would have been a BLAT if avocados weren't so dern expensive.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.

I was all hyped up for a BLT today when I realized my bread was moldy. I hate summer. Stupid heat makes things go bad way to quick.

I've said it before, but bacon seriously brought me back to the dark side.
(I was vegetarian from age 12-22.)
I loooooove bacon.
