Am I the only one who has been waiting for someone to post a thread like this?

I love bacon. Sausage is just...yuck. Every time I have breakfast at my friend's house, she cooks up a plate piled high with sausage, and not a crumb of bacon in sight. I die a little every time because I get my hopes up that she will finally cook some bacon. :'(

in addition to rhubarb and nana's cottage, here's yet ANOTHER reason to visit me!!!!

The Stratford Bacon and Ale Trail

Stratford is the home of an annual Shakespeare theatre festival. there's also a LOT of great restaurants there and it's a bit like an artists' colony where Christopher Plummer and singer-harpist Lorenna McKennit live, along with a bunch of Canadian actors you've probably never heard of!

it's only an hour away from here.

every year, they do one modern musical - the current production of Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway originated there last summer.

my favourite thing is the backstage tour. when i saw the materials room in the costume workshop, i felt like i went to fabric heaven!!

My husband bought an electric george-forman-ish grill. I used it for the first time this morning. I fixed bacon on it. We ate it all. It was heavenly. Clean-up was quick, easy and simple. I am in love with this grill. Bacon has never been so fast, fabulous and non-messy!!!

I also scrambled eggs and baked biscuits. I don't eat eggs and the biscuits were okay. BACON! Everyone loved the bacon!

I dream about bacon

the Canadian National Exhibition is our big annual agricultural fair in Toronto. there are similar fairs in Vancouver, Ottawa and here in London.

taking a page from the peeps at the Texas State Fair, the food has been getting stranger and more artery-clogging every year!

If you’re still haunted by the CNE’s deep-fried butter and Krispy Kreme burger experiments, brace yourself for this year’s carnival craze — the Bacon Nation Explosion.

The admittedly eye-catching sandwich is filled with a thick slice of “bacon sausage” stuffed with bacon bits and infused with Jack Daniel’s barbecue sauce.

(...)

“Just when you think the bacon trend is over, someone else comes up with something new,” says Andrew Motta, who will have a Bacon Nation booth in the food building. “So we’ve kinda built a tribute where every bacon lover can unite and celebrate the cause.”

Watch for (watch out for?) bacon-wrapped, deep-fried Mars bars, red velvet funnel cakes topped with crumbled bacon, bacon sundaes, bacon-topped baked potatoes, and the Nutella BBBLT with eight strips of bacon, two pieces of back bacon, lettuce, tomato and Nutella.

Moderate types are advised to limit themselves to bacon on a stick — a 1/4-inch thick, custom-cut slice of double-smoked bacon woven onto a stick and served with Jack Daniel’s barbecue dipping sauce.

Bacon sausage sounds nomnoms but barbecue sauce would just ruin it for me.
