How do you clen your house with vinegar?

I know some of you curlies clean your house with vinegar. I want to try this because cleaning chemicals give me a headache, but how well does vinegar clean? And what do you use to disinfect?

I spray my mirrors with vinegar then use a balled up newspaper to wipe off. They get sooo clear and streak free.

1001 uses for white vinegar

I buy it by the gallon.

My favorite vinegar trick is to put it in the dishwasher where the Jet Dry would go. It works as well if not better, costs far less and is environmentally friendly.

I do that too! I know I'm weird, but I love the smell of the vinegar steam when I open the dishwasher.

I would usually put the vinegar in a spray bottle and use it like I would any other cleaner. I bought the white distilled vinegar, I think.

I buy white vinegar in bulk at Sam's Club - 2 gallons per box.

I have a solution of 50/50 water/vinegar that I put in a spray bottle, and use as I would any all-purpose cleaner.

In a bucket with hot water for mopping.

I do the dishwasher thing too, putting it in the "rinse aid" compartment. And instead of detergent, I use 1 tbsp each of Borax and Washing Soda (not baking soda).

Vinegar also works great in place of fabric softener. You can use it in a Downy ball, or if your washing machine has a softener compartment. I swear it won't make your clothes smell like vinegar.

I haven't tried it as I still use traditional cleaners in my bathroom, but I know of a lot of people who use their vinegar/water solution plus some baking soda to clean the bathroom.

I do, too!

And I also put it in the rinse thingy in the dishwasher, AND in the laundry (though I didn't know it had fabric softening qualities, I just thought it boosted the detergent power)

I can't even remember the last time I bought regular cleaners, except Pine-Sol (love that stuff). I'd buy baking soda more often, but I need an easy-dispense container to put it in, and can't think of anything suitable. I hate using it out of the box.

But, yes, white vinegar is the BEST

In addition to using it as a all purpose cleaner, I use it on my stainless steel appliances. Much cheaper than those speciality cleaners.
I also use it to keep my drains running smoothly.. About once a week or so, I boil a kettle of water, then pour some down the drain, then some vinegar.. wait a bit and repeat.
