Default SpinOff - Going to the dump.

How many country folks do we have here who don't have city trash service? I'm too far out in the country/city lines. I'm feeling too lazy to tote off the trash today! Maybe my man can go to the dump for me.

Me! I go to the dump every saturday. I leave right around the corner from it so it's easy. It also makes recycling super easy and I always know when it's big dump weekend. It's not my favorite of chores but whatever. I almost never have to do the dishes.

No garbage service here, nor water (we're on catchment). Saturdays are garbage and water days.

We could go to the dump if we wanted to...but I don't want to. I pay a private service to pick up my trash weekly.

Catchment? Does that mean you have to drink/bathe-in water that runs off your roof into a barrel?

Yes, it's a 17 thousand gallon barrel. That's used for bathing, laundry, etc. And you can boil pasta and make coffee because it goes through heat.

You CAN drink it if you have a great filteration system and UV lights, but we don't, so we fill up four 5 gallons jugs a week for drinking water.

They moved the one at my childhood home to a place farther away. It used to be right up the road.

I don't live at home anymore, so I'm not sure how often my parents go to dump their trash now.

I go to the dump almost every day, I can't stand the stinky garbage hanging around. The dump is 2 minutes away, so it is easy.

In the summer one of our trucks is the neighborhood dump runner. Since the key is in it people borrow it to fill it up with crap and haul it out to the dump. We have garbage service provided by the city, but they don't take everything. Sometimes it's just easier to fill up a truck and haul it out, it only costs $8 per load.

It's fun to take kids out to the dump and see their eyes as they watch the big equipment crush the trash. My nephew was in heaven and didn't want to leave.

Our city offers that service but we live past the cut off line for distance. It sucks too because it's only $25 per month and we used it for years in the other house we owned before this one.

We also pay to have our regular trash picked up weekly. We used to take it to the dump ourselves, but it gets a little, er, "fragrant" in the warmer months, so we pay.

When we're at our place in Montana in the summer we have to go to the dump twice a week. It's often a fun trip - there's always the possibility of seeing bears!

We go to the dump when we are at the cabin in the summer. For some reason, the kids love the trip. I haven't figured out why, because it's just a bunch of dumpsters lined up.
