Ugh!!

I have the flu.

Just got back from the doctor. I've been sick all weekend, with no end in sight. I have asthma as well and was concerned about a decrease in lung function. He put me on an oral steroid and a flu medicine.

So, here I sit in bed, thinking I need to go back to sleep. My hubby took excellent care of me all weekend and took me to the doctor this morning, but I just sent him on his way to work.

I just needed to pout.....

I'm sorry you're not feeling well.

Both my husband and son have been sick with the flu. My son is feeling better but had it for a full 2 weeks. He also has asthma. His Albuterol was changed to taking it 3 times a day instead of as needed. The doctor also had him taking Mucinex to get any phlegm up.

My husband is on his 2nd week and feels worse today than he has the whole time.

I hope you feel better soon! Drink a lot of fluids.

I'm sorry you're sick.

I have the flu as well. Lucky for me, classes were cancelled today due to my teacher being sick as well. Seems like there is a nasty one going around.

I had flu this time last year. I'm also asthmatic, so it was HORRIBLE. Worried at times that I was going to die, kinda wishing I just would.... ugh.

That was the first year I had gone without a flu shot. Lesson Learned!!

That happened to me once, too, meryn...in college, minus the asthma..never again!
You really do feel as tho you are dying...horrible. I was also taking chemistry, which is why I've always had a prob w/ it...lol

Just wanted to say Thanks to you ladies. I don't feel much better today, the Doc said I may feel some improvement by Wednesday. I'm drinking lots of fluids and eating chicken noodle soup, but basically I just want to lie down and sleep.

I live in Virginia and my Doc said they have seen a dramatic increase in flu cases in the last week and he didn't expect it to peak for 2 to 3 more weeks.

Stay healthy out there!

pinksugar & meryn - Asthma and the flu together are pretty scary. I did have a couple of frightening moments on Sunday where I felt I was on the verge of a full-blown asthma attack - not good. I'm hoping the oral steroid will take care of that.
