Well I got my 5-toed shoe replacements (in both sizes so I could keep the one I like and send the other back) but I am hugely disappointed. I can't picture using them for running because they have a really pointy tab in the back that digs into my heel and would probably give me blisters after 2 blocks. Both sizes have this problem except one size is too small and the other is too big. What a letdown!
So now I have 3 pairs of these things total and I have to send 2 of them back to get my money back. The other pair, I modified in an attempt to make it more comfortable (I was partly successful but not enough to make it suitable for running). I wish I could send that back too but I can't since I modified it. I will probably still wear the 1 pair to the grocery store or whatever but it's not comfortable enough for running because it digs into the heel.
They have a "sprint" model that looks like it MIGHT supposedly be comfortable enough for running, because the heel area looks more forgiving and less likely to dig into me, but honestly, I'm so sick of trying these on and the impending trips to the post office to send them back ... I'm so not motivated to try any more of them. I would rather run outside in my socks than go through this whole rigmarole all over again. or barefoot. The whole thing is supposed to approximate running barefoot so I might as well just run barefoot for free.
Anyway, lesson learned: buying shoes online is not fun for me.
