Default Does anyone take organic apple cider vinegar for their health?

I became interested in ACV because I heard that it's so beneficial for your health. It's a home remedy and cures many ailments. I've been taking apple cider vinegar as a supplement 3X and day for about 3 weeks now and I've been noticing improvement in my skin. My face has been getting fewer pimples. I've read that organic ACV helps with high blood pressure, heavy menstrual flow, heart burn, flu, weight loss, allergies, burns and a lot of other things. Does anyone use this for their health?

I use it as an ingredient when I mix my own toners.

Do you drink the ACV straight or mix it with something else? I can hardly get past the smell. My gag reflexes are really good...lol.

There are pill versions available too, I think.

I have a friend that was looking into doing this, as a way to offset her PCOS symptoms. Supposedly it works a lot like metformin in the way it handles your body's resistence to insulin.

How true that is, I don't have the foggiest, but it's what I heard :P

As a daily tonic, I put 2 tsp of ACV in water and drink. I do this 3X a day. For more severe issues, you can use 1 to 2 tbs of ACV in water. You can read more about organic ACV at earthclinic.com

To me it tastes like weak italian dressing. I would like to try it but I do it for about 2 days and then forget - I have never been able to get into a routine with it.

What xcptnl said. I knew a woman who also applied it directly to her face with a cotton ball and she said it kept her face clear.

Supposedly, Fergie also takes it to keep her stomach flat ???

I've been drinking aloe vera juice twice a day (2oz/time) since the beginning of January b/c I read about all of the health benefits. During that research I also read a lot about ACV. Remember that Jogging In A Jug stuff from the 90's? It was pretty much ACV with some fruit juices (to make it's taste more appealing) and they claimed so many benefits that the product had to be taken off the market and destroyed b/c the FDA said the claims weren't true. (They even claimed it cured cancer). I wonder if I could do ACV & aloe vera? I don't really like the way the aloe vera juice tastes so I use a chaser (last couple week's I've had a bottle of G2)...so I'm sure I could do ACV and just use a chaser with it too!

What does Aloe Vera juice do for you? I've had some before but I don't think it was the real deal. It was green and sweet-- way too good to be healthy. Lol

I add it to Flaxseed Oil, cayenne pepper & Stevia for a dressing on my salads & coleslaw. Yum! I've tried drinking it with water & I just can't stomach it.

I keep buying it and starting to take it for all manner of ailments (sore throats, skin blemishes) but I always stop after a day or two. This thread is reminding me to pick some up and start over, though. I heard it's best to drink it through a straw and then rinse out your mouth with water as it's acidic enough to really do a number on your teeth.

Oh apple cider vinegar. I collect home remedies, try them out on myself and attempt to get my friends to try them when they get sick. They are sick of me telling them to try apple cider vinegar for various ailments and most think its gross, but I don't even take asprin these days so home remedies is the way to go.

The only actual apple cider vinegar remedy I'll back at this point is to help with an upset stomach. A friend of mine came down with sever food poisoning the night before we were going camping. I convinced him to take some apple cider vinegar. He stopped puking for a good 24 hours and felt better for it but he unfortunately didn't take anymore or bring it with him. So he ended up puking his guts out in the campfire the next night...

There is some concern over drinking ACV, even diluted, because its pretty harsh on the enamel and insides, so if you plan on taking it everyday I'd go with the capsules. I'm interested to know how it works out for you!

We had a big ACV thread a year or so ago. I guess it got deleted when NC revamped its look.

I've already purchased bacon (which I don't like) and organic European style butter thanks to recent threads, so you know I tried the ACV.

It didn't do anything for me at all (I think I stuck it out for a full bottle, or maybe a month or so), but some posters said that it cleared up dark circles under their eyes.

It also inspired an NC original, something along the lines of "caught between vanity and sanity" (don't remember the original wording...was that Wild Hair?)

I don't eat Stevia but would otherwise try it as a dressing. I've got a big bottle of Braggs ACV that is unopened and I think still fresh. Might have to start using it with this thread reminder...
