I tend to hear defensive remarks like that when a celebrity in particular has done something wrong, and it's still inexcuseable. I don't care how much of a fan of that person's you are, wrong is wrong.

I'm actually surprised that it took this long for the photos to leak out. This is a hot topic in the entertainment media, right now, so it was bound to happen. People were so desperate for photos that they were altering previous pictures of her in photoshop to show bruises.

I expected to be a random picture that somebody's friend's cousin's brother got a hold of and tried to sell, not an official police photo, though.

i'm glad that they posted that picture. i had no idea he hit her like that. if she goes back to him she's completely insane and has no one on her side to help her make common sense decisions. chris brown is a complete animal and i'm disgusted. i used to be fan.

This won't be popular, but I for one would still like to hear CB's side of the story. I know of too many cases of enraged or crazed girlfriends grabbing stearing wheels, attacking with knives, etc. to say that there's "never" a good reason to hit a woman.

That said, whatever led up to this... those two shouldn't be together. They get back together and one of them might end up dead next time.

There is a huge difference between self-defense and the level of her injuries. If that level was needed, then he'd have injuries of his own, and she too would be facing charges.

If she attacked him, of course he has a right to defend himself. But it doesn't give him the right to beat her like that.

I wouldn't go as far to say that a man should never hit a woman, but those bruises are not from self-defense. And self-defense is the only reason any one, regardless of sex, should be hitting another person, regardless of sex.

I wanted to see if it was really her. I couldn't recognize her she was so bruised. She had her eyes closed too.

The LAPD is launching an investigation on the picture leaks. They have some serious integrity issues. I heard on the radio TMZ (or whoever) paid the source $100,000 for the picture.

lol I knew my post wasn't gonna be popular.

I was more addressing the popular notion that there's "never a good reason..." than what happened in this particular case. I'd still like to hear both sides of the story. Both parties could use some counseling at the very least.

Chris' mother's ex-BF used to beat her up. He talked before how that scarred him to hear his mother get beaten down and how he would never be like that.

Acutally, its not all that messed up.

Studies show that children that witness abuse of a parent or are themselves abused are much more likely to be an abuser or suffer at the hand of an abuser as an adult.

ETA: Also, usually as adults, they know that what they saw and witnessed was wrong, but its VERY hard to stop the cycle of abuse...espically when you witnessed it as a child.

I'm also going to take the unpopular route here...because I want to hear his side of the story. Not so much that I want to hear what Rihanna might have done to cause this (because honestly, I don't think she did anything nor do I think that anyone deserves it) but I want to see where dude's head is at. I seriously hope he enters some type of treatment program and gets the help he needs so that he can stop the cycle of abuse.

Another unpopular opinion...but I don't think he deserves to be locked up and the key thrown away. He's 19...which is basicly a BABY. I think he needs extensive counciling and therapy (acutally, I think they both do). Rihanna and CB had a very adult relationship for them to be sooo young...and I'm not so sure that they had adults around that were not on thier payroll to really guide and direct them. Young, rich, famous, no adult guidiance....they were sitting on a powder keg. I'm just sorry that it ended up this way....but I knew that when it ended...it was gonna be BAD.

^^^Very true. We're products of our environment. In many ways, we end up mirroring our parents; IOW we become polar opposites disgusted by their behavior.

It depends on the individual. Some children of abuse will grow up to be abusers; some will grow up to be abused, some will do neither.
