It makes me sad that this picture was leaked. Unless she released the picture for some reason, it's such an invasion of that poor girl's privacy.

My only hope is that maybe it will help make an abused woman get out of an abusive relationship or inspire a man with an anger problem to get help.

I agree. Seeing that picture made me feel so sad for her. First, she's abused by someone who's suppose to love her. Then the pictures are released for the whole world to see. I hope she's able to recover from this. And I really hope she doesn't take him back.

I, too, had hoped a picture wouldn't be leaked, but in this world, knew it would be. That's an invasion of privacy. Is it from the hospital or the police file, I wonder.

An apology and claim of finding religion are convenient changes after something so public happens. I hope she doesn't buy his act.

Wow.

I don't know if this makes sense, but the sadness in her face is worse than the bruises. That picture made me tear up. Poor girl. I hope her support system is strong enough to talk her out of going back with him.

I agree on both counts, and I hope Chris is charged. Just because he's a celebrity shouldn't give him a free pass to do this to someone and get away with it.

You have a point about it possibly helping some other abused woman out there get help. It is an invasion of privacy, but if we can try to find one tiny silver lining in TMZ releasing it, is that hopefully anyone who's being abused will see it and realize they need to get out. I hope so, and I hope she's not seriously considering taking him back. He deserves serious jail time.

I feel two ways about this picture. On the one hand, she's just a person like any other and is totally entitled to her privacy. On the other hand, she's in a terrific position to help other young women in the same position by having that picture seen and talking about it. But going back to the first hand, she IS just like everyone and it looks like she needs as much help as anyone, especially if it's true that she's going back to him.

I know what you mean. The sadness is the first thing I noticed too. I just want to give her a hug. I hope her family is taking good care of her and getting her the help she needs.

Just heard that Chris Brown got his first statement of support. From Terrence Howard. Here's what he said:

I haven't really been follow this story. But yesterday, I followed a few links and read stuff on it. I don't know the whole story, but. . .

Anyone else seriously disturbed by some of the comments? I keep reading stuff like, "we don't know the whole story" and "well she supposedly did this," "it takes 2 to tango." That is seriously sick. I don't believe in violence, but there are some circumstances (you or someone you love being the victim of violent assaults like hers, rape, murder, crimes against children, etc) that I can understand. I don't necessarily excuse it but I can understand losing your cool. Short of stuff like that, there's no reason, excuse or nothing to do to "deserve it."

ITA. That's actually one of the most disturbing things about this story, to me. Reading the comments people have posted online about how she must have done something to deserve it... and how they feel sorry for Chris, because he was just being a 'real man', etc.

I know people are more prone to speak out online and say things they would NEVER say in person, but they have to actually believe that in order to spew that kind of twisted logic online. It blows my mind that ANYone could think someone deserves to be treated that way.
