I'm P.O.'ed as anything that they didn't show clips of the performances when they handed out the award for best supporting actress. I want to see the clips - I look forward to those, and they're a good "reference guide" for the movies I haven't seen this year. I honestly could care less what Angelica Houston thinks of Penelope Cruz's performance - I'd rather they used that time to show us a clip of that performance, like they always do. This is going to stink if they do the whole show this way.

Why did Anne Hathaway change her dress? The one she was wearing on the red carpet was gorgeous. I looked to see if she'd change back after her number, but she hadn't (yet).

They keep flashing to Brad and Angelina now that Jennifer's onstage. Real original.

Blame it on all those women wanting to be the typical attention hogs that they are.

I agree. The dress she wore on the red carpet was MUCH better than the one she was wearing for that number she did with Hugh Jackman.

Has she changed back? I could understand changing for a performance 1. She couldn't do some of the moves in her red carpet dress. 2. It's her "costume"

She's back in her other dress. I could understand her changing for the number; it was just weird when she didn't change back.

I'm so happy for Heath's family. I know it means a lot to them. Sean Penn looked like he was about to cry.

Yes, there was an interesting article I read somewhere in entertainment news that followed the whole path of how his Oscar will eventually get to Matilda. The upshot is that it is basically held in trust for her until she is 18. Now, simply because his family accepted it doesn't mean they get to keep it till then. I think, from what I read, it is legally to be turned over to his closest kin, which if that kin is a minor, it's to be held by the minor child's parent or guardian, this being Michelle Williams. Michelle, as Matilda's only surviving parent, is to hold the Oscar in trust till she's of age. A whole bunch of paperwork was involved, just like any trust for a minor child would be. Then, upon her 18th birthday, before his Oscar is turned over to her, Matilda will have to sign off on all sorts of paperwork, basically agreeing to the condition that she will not sell the Oscar, and that if she does, her first offer is to sell it back to The Academy for $1.00.
It was a pretty interesting article - if I can find it, I'll link it.
EDIT: Found it -

Here's the whole article:
