Rhianna and Chris Brown dating again

Chris Brown is being charged with 2 felonies

LOS ANGELES – Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies stemming from an argument with his girlfriend, Rihanna, court documents show.
Brown is expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats. The 19-year-old R&B singer remains free on $50,000 bail.
The felony complaint handed down in court Thursday morning identifies Brown's alleged victim only as "Robyn F." Rihanna's real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty.
If convicted, the possible sentence ranges anywhere from probation to four years and eight months in state prison, said district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.
Los Angeles police arrested Brown on Feb. 8 and booked him on suspicion of making criminal threats. Police said at the time a woman identified Brown as her attacker during an early morning dispute in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood.
A phone message left for Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, was not immediately returned Thursday. Brown's publicist Tony Knight said any statement would likely come from Geragos after today's hearing.
Rihanna's spokesperson had no comment on the charges filed against Brown.
Brown issued a statement a week after the incident saying that he was "sorry and saddened" about the incident. Rihanna also later issued a statement, saying she wouldn't comment on the alleged beating at the request of authorities. She thanked fans for their support.
Brown's arrest has been a dent in the "Run It!" singer's squeaky-clean image, and compelled sponsors to drop him or not renew his deals.
The alleged attack also came hours before the couple were scheduled to appear and perform at the Grammy Awards. Both were no-shows for event.

According to the warrant, Brown shoved Rihanna's head against the window of their car, repeatedly punching and biting her, and yelled, "I'm going to beat the **** out of you when we get home. You wait and see."

After Rihanna, 20, read a text message on Brown's phone from a woman, he tried to force Rihanna out of the car, but couldn't because she was wearing her seatbelt.
Brown then allegedly slammed Rihanna's head against her window, and when Rihanna turned to face him, he punched her.
The warrant said blood spattered on Rihanna's clothing and the interior of the Lamborghini.

Rihanna also called her assistant, according to FOX 11, leaving a message saying, "I am on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there."
Brown then replied, "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you," and proceeded to punch and bite Rihanna. He allegedly put her in a headlock so long that she almost lost consciousness.

It looked pretty bad, but what he did was actually more intense than I would have guessed.

I am so glad the authorities have the evidence to do what she won't/can't choose to do for herself. It is even nastier than what I had previously read.

And all the "you don't know what the relationship is like" codswallop is out the window, especially as the LAPD have confirmed that this was only the most recent time she had reported his violence towards her. And apparently each incident was worse than the one that it followed.

If he is convicted (and I hope they weed all the misogynists, Chris Brown stans, and wifebeater sympathisers out injury selection) at least she'll get 4 years to shake herself out of whatever kind of reverie he put her in.
The more I read about this the more sick I feel. I cant believe even if he gets convicted he will only get 8 months! That is just a joke. He should be jailed for years.

I'd be really surprised if he doesn't plead guilty in order to bargain for a reduced sentence. I'm betting that he gets probation and/or community service & mandotory anger management classes, although I really do think that he should spend some time in jail.

Seriously, for some reason, I really don't want to see this go to trial. I want him to plead guilty and accept his punishment. I mean, he's already issued an apology & we've seen photographic evidence that he beat her. I don't know what he could say in his defense.

So wait...he got a booty call AND GOT CAUGHT and he flipped out on HER? Why? As a reaction to her understandable jealousy and finding out she may've been cheated on? Or was it maybe something else?

You know...I noticed something in this and the other CB/Rihanna thread (the CNN one) and its been sorta bugging me since I noticed it. I know I'm about to piss a WHOLE buncha folks off...but here goes.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the women that have admitted to being in an abusive relationship in the past(physical/mental/SO or Parental) seem to be the ones being most critical of Rihanna's misguided decision (yes i agree that it is a misguided decision) to resume her relationship with CB. I find it espically interesting because the majority of those that have talked about thier personal experiences have also mentioned that they too went back to thier abuser for whatever reasons.

Now we all know the stats associated with abuse, that it takes a woman up to seven failed attempts before she sucessfully leaves her abuser, and i dunno, i guess it struck me as odd that the women that have been in her shoes so to speak, seem to have the least compassion for where she is (or maybe they are expressing that compassion in a different way than I expected).

I dunno...just my ramblings...feel free to comment if u wish.

I think, for example, drug addicts get much less sympathy than battered women when it is a lot harder for them to quit their behavior pattern. Both situations involve a degree of choice, and the latter moreso, IMO.

But to what I am getting as your general point; that on a whole society needs to be more supportive of women in this situation, I agree. I think that support should come from providing more avenues for women to leave these situations & more specialist support, especially when the women are aware enough to report what has happened to the police (as Rihanna apparently did on several previous occasions).

What's also necessary is tougher sanctions for perpetrators and dismantling the overall underlying belief in this society that it is sometimes justifiable to abuse your spouse/partner. I don't think that censoring how we view the choice to stay with such a partner is all that significant or helpful.

I wonder how fast he was driving? He could have killed her.

missed this part..

Brown then replied, "You just did the stupidest thing ever. I'm going to kill you," and continued to punch her.
>She then "bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and head near her lap in attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied by Brown," according the the affidavit.
After stopping the car and losing the ignition key, Brown allegedly put her in a headlock so long that she almost lost consciousness. According to the affidavit, he then walked away, and a resident who heard her screams called 911.
Even if you can't personally relate to the psychology of someone that puts up with an abuser, it's understandable why someone may if you think about how powerful the unhealthy emotions tying them are... like insecurity or mistaking love and not wanting to give up on something. But to ever be at the point where a stranger calls 911 for you because they heard your screams...it would seem THAT would be enough. No way, no how could that be the context for something good to come out of. Just guessing reality hasn't really set in with her, and when it does, she'll realize she has to move on from him. But it's probably really hard for reality to do it's thing when you've been hanging out at P Diddy's house..or whatever his name is at the moment.

i really wonder if he'll end up going to prison over this. id hate to see things go awry and turn into another oj simpson/nicole brown-simpson ordeal.
I agree in not calling her stupid. You don't know what it's like until you are in the situation. I'm not saying I wouldn't drop his a$$ faster than he can sing "Forever", but you don't know until you walk a mile in someone's shoes.
he's crazy...the details are heart breaking. he was so violent and it was prolonged. now i really wish she would stay away from him. this is not the first time that happened....sadly it'll probably effect her career too...urgh! terrible!
