I'm so sorry! ((hugs)) ...when God closes a door, He opens a window. I'm sure things will turn around soon. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Curlilocks. But actually, I'm a paraprofessional, not a teacher. The turnover rate is high enough that my job is pretty safe, and the pink slip list didn't even include us, at list not yet. Of course, with the $$$ situation as it is, even if/when I do get CA credentials(I currently am certified in NJ,) there won't be any jobs to be had.

I had been considering going for substitute teaching next year, rather than parapro, but I'm sure that field will be flooded by then.
tgretz, I'm still sending you possitive vibes

Oh, don't be silly, I lost two jobs in eight months!!!
I'm SO sorry this happened. When I lost the second job, it felt like an absolute nightmare because I couldn't believe this was happening again and that I was going through it all again...but I got through it, and now I've been at my current job for over a year...and I feel that if I lose this job, I'll be okay and it is JUST a job in the end.
Things have a very strange way of working-out sometimes!
