I just made a very good buttermilk dressing....

1/2 low fat buttermilk
1/2 low fat sour cream
1 Tbs apple cider vinegar
2 Tbs green onions (scallions)
2 Tbs parsley
1 clove minced garlic
Salt & Pepper

I use very green lettuces, but I also like to use iceberg lettuce for the crunch.

I like mixed greens or baby spinach for greens. Iceberg isn't my favorite. As for toppings, I like almost anything but tree nuts because I'm allergic to them.

Salad nicoise, I know there are green beans, tuna, black olives, and I forget what else.

The wild alaskan salmon salad at cosi has salmon (dur) capers, arugula, spinach, capers, red onion, pesto sauce, maybe a bit of egg, carrot shreds, and a vinigrette. YUM!!!

Or spring mix with italian dressing, maybe a piece of baked salmon on top, and I'm good.

Or your regular iceberg salad with carrots, a bit of cheese, croutons and ranch dressing.

I can't put nuts or fruits on my salads cause I'm allergic.

Now I want salad.

My favorite salad includes:

- Mixed greens
- A little bit of iceberg. Not too much! Just a bit mixed in.
- Soy nuts
- Sunflower seeds
- Candied walnuts and/or almonds (SO good! And it seems weird to have them in a salad with the rest of these ingredients, but it works!)
- Fried or grilled chicken
- Croutons
- Lots of cheese (all different kinds)
- Hard boiled eggs
- Bacon
- French fries

With some ranch drizzled on top. Or some homemade Italian. Yum!

As you can see, I don't like healthy salads much.

My salads are pretty simple.

One of my favorites:
baby spinach or a dark lettuce
thinly sliced "rings" of Spanish (purple) onion
Sliced strawberries
Poppyseed dressing

Or:

Red leaf, butter lettuce, or romaine
sliced mushrooms
chopped red bell pepper
sliced green onions
Toasted pine nuts or walnuts
cucumber, very thinly sliced

I love any or all of the following and anything else that strikes my fancy. I love salads. (Two things I don't like on a salad are cheese and too much really strong dressing.)

--dandelions, wild greens, mixed lettuces, spinach
--day lillies, tulips, bean blossoms, nasturtiums
--walnuts, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds
--black beans, soy beans, kidney beans
--strawberries, peaches, oranges
--parsley, oregano, chives, hot pepper powder
--olive oil and really good balsamic vinegar

That salad sounds mighty tasty minus the onion (and maybe the corn...corn is good but I'm not sure about it on a salad...I might have to try that)

I really like a layered salad my sister makes. It only has iceberg lettuce. You layer the lettuce, frozen peas, scallions, cucumbers, & green peppers. It's then topped off with a layer of mayo & shredded cheese on top. Very crunchy which I like & a very fresh taste to it.

Default Croutons!!!!

I don't care what's in the salad as long as they have croutons, you won't hear any complaints from me!

strawberries, Mandarin oranges, grapes, granny smith apples, romaine and spinach, monterray jack and cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, garlic butter croutons, berry balsamic vinaigrette

cobb salad with tons to cheddar cheese, garlic butter croutons, and tons of buttermilk ranch dressing

B.K. salad topped with tendercrisp chicken and tons of ranch dressing

I just made my favorite salad for dinner tonight:
http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/001568.html

I left out the peas, added sundried tomatoes, and added a squeeze of lemon juice along with the olive oil. It's soooooo good.
