Default Shoe repair ?

I just had a pair of boots repaired for the first time. After many years I finally wore out the soles and had them redone. They look great, looks durable, it wasn't very expensive.

But it still feels like I'm walking in shoes with holes in them. I had to walk my son to school yesterday. That short 20 minute walk I felt all day. I plan on buying some insoles and see if that helps. I'm just wondering if this is to be expected with all resoles.

I've never redone the soles on my shoes, but my shoe guy knows me because I have to get the tips done on my heels. With 3 pairs of boots, which I constantly wear, the time adds up, but the cost is worth it.

I also have gel insoles in all of my heels because they make any shoe comfortable. That's how I'm able to wear 3" heels to the museum or zoo.

Yep, the gel insoles are great. I bought some recently for my boots and am wondering what took me so long.

I would imagine there would be another 'break in' period but I am not entirely sure. Gel inserts are always nice though.

I've only ever had tips done at a shoe repair place, so I can't really speak of having shoes resoled. Could you get a second opinion? I can't imagine why you would still feel like there were holes after having a new sole put on. Weird.

I would expect that insoles would help.

Care to share what kind of insoles those are? I can do 2-3 inch heels but anything 3" and up is really hard for me to wear (I have small feet too... size 5-6)

They're the Dr. Scholl for women. I also worked up to 3". One year I wore 2", the next was 2.5", and now I have a bunch of 3". One pair of boots is 3.75" and those are too high, but I love the look. I'm wearing them tomorrow with a sweater dress. I try to wear them once a week or so to keep in practice.
