I was never impressed with Paris's voice. She's only tolerable to me within a certain range. Then I just find it unpleasant. I could never listen to her long enough to figure out what it was about her voice that agitated me. There's a certain insipidness to it for me though.
Personally, I thought Mandisa had the best voice of the top 12.
Taylor sounded much better than Katherine Wed. night. He sounded much better than he did most of the season. Katharine was apparently losing her voice before Tuesday's show and had to get a cortisone shot. That may partially account for all the horrible notes she hit Tuesday.
And PRINCE!!! I flipped to AI right when Prince came out. Shock and disbelief. PRINCE!!! on AI.
ETA: Out of the guys' group performance, I thought Chris sounded the best. He sounded good during his performance with Live too.

Yay for Taylor. Glad he won over Kat. But I still think Chris got ripped off. In fact he sounded better than Live's lead singer in my opinion.
I was shocked to see prince too. Is he like 3 feet tall or what!!! Di dyou see those heels???????

I predicted Taylor's win several weeks ago. Nice guy with a mediocre voice who I think will go the same direction as the last Birmingham, AL, winner (Ruben) into somewhat obscurity in a couple years.
My husband and I both commented that if someone watched last night for the first time this season Katharine would have won. She did circles around Taylor in last night's finale show.
I found the whole show very entertaining. Loved the Clay Aiken segment and loved the Katharine and Meatloaf and Elliot and Mary J. Blige duets. Enjoyed Chris and Live. Found the "awards" entertaining because they added some humor to the show.
I agree with the person above. . . I still can't believe Tamyra Gray didn't win the first season. I did (and still do) like Kelly Clarkson but loved Tamyra!
Now if my VCR didn't get all of Lost I will not be a happy camper.

DH came in when Prince was on, and said "Geez, they have
a Prince impersonator?!?"
Me: "No, I think that's really Prince."
DH: "Naw!"
He just wouldn't believe that was really Prince. Finally
his name showed up somewhere and then he believed it.

Hee! Prince was a nice surprise! My mom had tipped me off from the Central time zone, tho. I just wish the brotha would leave that relaxer alone! I wonder if we can direct him here....
Toni Braxton is a joke. Her voice is totally gone, and she has nothing to offer but that sex kitten foolishness. And nobody's buying that. Get a decent weave, damnit!
Meatloaf.
Ace could be my next babydaddy. Damn he is hot. Don't want him to talk to me, though.
I think Paris was great....and I agree with whoever said Lisa Tucker was wonderful (why couldn't she do that a few months ago?).
The show was pretty cute. It's cool that Taylor won!

congrats to taylor! the south wins again.
bucky and carrie were great last night. i thought elliot was better than i had ever noticed. why couldn't he sing like that and have charisma like that during the season. kelly is pretty with the new haircut. don't know why david hasselhoff was crying at the annoucement of the winner.

Celine recorded the song but Meatloaf wrote it.
Katharine/Meatloaf was the most painful duet of the night Mostly due to Meatloaf though.

Was I the only one who thought Katherine had some trouble with the duets? I don't know why, she just seemed like she always wanted to be in the spotlight... But maybe that's just me.

It happens all too often that contestants are at their best after they've been voted off. How often have you thought that their 'bye bye number' was better than the official performance?
I'm not surprised that Lisa was great. Although she hadn't been that good in the weeks leading up to her being voted off, her audition was fantastic.
I'm looking forward to watching this tomorrow night.

Chris was fabulous last night. And then I had a dream that he left his wife for me. He told me that she just didn't understand him anymore. He's sooo hott. Too bad I had to wake up.

LOL.
I think that he should have won.
I also think that deep down, Kat is glad that she didn't win.

I was watching something today nd she said that she believes it was best the she didn't win, based off of what she'd like to do. She seemed genuinely happy that Taylor won. But then again, she is an aspiring actress, so who knows. Maybe this is all an act.

From what I understand Katharine is still under contract, assuming that Clive Davis/19E wants to sign her (and I believe he has stated that he will). So if you're already stuck with those folks then it probably is better to win, since the winner gets far better PR.
I think Elliott and Paris probably got the best deal of all. 19E won't sign them, but they got invaluable exposure and another company will be sure to snatch them up and (hopefully) work with them on an album that plays to their strengths, rather than trying to make them into the "pop" singers they are not.
