Any Anne of Green Gables fans?
I just ran into Gilbert in the street! I'm such a dork! 
I've found SO many young women I meet have the same Gilbert love! He was seriously my first romantic ideal when I was a kid and I haven't yet given-up on finding a Gilbert.
He did Broadway a couple of years ago and I would see him around the community a lot.
Today I was walking down the street in the POURING rain, juggling my umbrella and stuff, and I see adorable guy with big dimples and it's Jonathan Crombie.
CanItBeChristine: (intending on giving him a casual HELLO! greeting as if they're old friends who just greet each other in the street and keep walking every day) HI!
Jonathan Crombie: (confused but very warm) Hi!
CanItBeChristine: We've met before...at Drowsy...and in Duane Reade...I'm a big big fan!
Jonathan: (very pleasantly shakes hand) Well, it's good to see you again!
I'm pretty sure I walked away while he was still talking...I think he was really confused.
Haha, I'm such a dork...but it's funny to think back to when I used to watch those movies all the time when I was a kid and think that one day I'd be running into him in the street like that...

YES! He has not aged at ALL. I think he looks better now than he did back in the third movie. He looks like a college kid!

This is from a couple of years ago when he was doing a show...my best friend from high school and I met him and giggled like seventh graders on our way home...haha...once again, I think Jonathan was confused...he has no idea what a big heartthrob he is to some people!!

That is such a great story. And kudos for just chatting it up.
I have to admit, i begged my parents to move to Prince Edward Island (PEI) forever. That never happened so then i was just insanely jealous of her lovely red hair and braids.

Hi,
I loved all the Anne (with an "E"!) of Green Gables books! My grandmother actually suggested them to me when I was around eight or nine years old. I also really enjoyed the series with Megan Follows that was shown on PBS. I bought the set of some of them on vhs. I should re-read them one day!

Lucky girl! I had the biggest crush on Jonathan Crombie when I was a girl. In fact, I still cry when I watch Anne of Avonlea and Minnie May says, "Gilbert Blythe is dying." I've seen that movie about a hundred times and it still gets me.

Ha ha ha to all of you! Gilbert teased Anne for having red hair, and I have red hair, too! So it's ME his character would love next after Anne.
(Can you tell I got a little bit crazy from loving this series?)

My first name is Diana and I have curly dark hair...when I told Jonathan my name, I was half-expecting him to say, "And you have curly dark hair like Diana Barry!"
My friend and I can recite that whole scene before Diana's wedding..."I never flirted with him! Gil and I have only ever been good friends!"

That's so cool Christine! This brings back such great memories. When I was in elementary school, we use to watch the Anne of Green Gables series in class! I absolutely fell in love with that show and looked forward to the days when we would watch. I think we watched one day a week or something like that and we would always be on pins and needles wondering what would happen in the next episode.
Also, I had a good friend named Diana that had thick dark curly hair, and she had a friend that had long red hair like Anne. All the kids would call them Diana and Anne, and I was a little jealous because I felt left out since Diana was my friend.

LOL...the friend in the photo actually once said, "If I ever meet Jonathan Crombie and I get a picture with him, I'm going to blow it up and hang it up in my kitchen FOREVER!"
Who knew we'd actually GET that photo once...haha.
