Poll: Are you charismatic?
The Lindsey Lohan thread got me thinking. Some people just have that certain je ne sais quois, that intangible presence that draws everyone in the room to you. Are you one of those people?

I voted: I can turn the world on with my smile
I am not being vain, but, I get complimented on my smile and "cheery disposition" all the time. Our customers love me, children adore me, animals are drawn toward me and I get stopped all the time in grocery stores and the like to tell me never to lose my smile. I can pretty much go anywhere and fit in and have a good time

Ditto. I do think it has more to do with me being friendly and having what my brother describes as a welcoming face. I'm cheery and it's obvious to people who don't know me. I often find myself having conversations with random strangers.

There she goes being all bubbly again.
(Love ya, Meg!)
I'm not the same type of charismatic. I remember about a year after starting work, I had a woman tell me that I walk into the room and people notice, and think "oh, the boss is here!" I was very about that, and think I'd actually prefer the "people swarm to me and love me" type of charisma. But, I guess that's just who I am? It's very odd.

Yes, no, I don't know.
My mom has said when I smile I draw people in, and I've noticed when someone is nervous during a speech or presentation, they'll look at me and calm down.
That said, people aren't naturally drawn to me, I think. I'm also a loner in a group.

Well, you know..I'm not *really* bubbly. I'm a pathetic loser who kidnaps owls and sh*t.

Yes - I guess that's why I am a performer.
I get the random strangers talking to me thing, too, but I don't know that that's necessarily charisma. I think charisma is more than people telling you their stuff. It's also being able to change, influence or affect people and is a leadership quality. It is a very high-powered type of charm. Smiling and stuff is definitely part of it, but I think it goes beyond that too.

I think it's a part of charisma. If people are drawn to you and feel comfortable with you, they are more inclined to trust you and your decisions.

I've told I have "presence". Which could mean that I have charisma (which I like to think I do), or that I scare people.

I don't think so. I'm not the kind of person people approach - I have to do the approaching, but that never happens.
Some of my friends have made weird comments about my smile being "irresistible" but I've never seen the results of that.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me. That's just not my personality!

i think i have charisma.
my DH says that my mom can captivate a room when she walks in and that i've inherited this quality from her. of course he loves me so i would HOPE i can at least captivate him, but i take it as a compliment

Yes. Major charisma here. The ironic part is that I'm a loner on the inside. I often feel crowded in real life and I get tired of people looking to me for answers.
Being on-line is nice because I can turn it off when I want.

Not really charismatic... but I can be quite manipulative. Vaguely similar, eh?
