Successfully treating allergies with honey

Has anyone been successful in treating their seasonal/local allergies with local honey?

I've never actually been good at remembering to take the honey every day -- if I remember correctly they say a tsp of local honey a day.

This past weekend we went to the farmers market and I bought a big mason jar of local honey. So far I've taken the honey the past two days (in my tea).

For those that this worked for how long were you taking the honey consistently before you noticed a difference in your allergies?

i tried it for the first time last year and local honey worked for both me and my daughter. i started taking it before the pollen got out of control, so im not exactly sure when it started working. every year im one of those people who is a sneezing, itchy eyed mess and last year i had no problems at all.

and thanks for starting this thread because ive been telling myself to get down to the farmer's market for some local honey for this very reason!
I've read that there's no evidence that this works.

Raw honey is pretty great, though. And sorry for destroying the possibility of a placebo effect.

I've noticed a significant decrease, but not complete elimination, of my symptoms.

I take a teaspoon-teaspoon-and-a-half of local honey in my tea daily when my allergies kick in during the fall.
Does it work for just seasonal allergies, or for people with pet allergies too?

Lisa, from my understanding it is for people who have reactions to pollen in the air, so yeah, seasonal.
Thanks, WH!

I take Royal Jelly and really notice a difference when I don't take it for several weeks. Runny nose and itchy eyes return.
I've heard about this, but I'm hella bad about taking pills and vitamins and such, so I've never really tried. My allergies are not very severe, but I'm interested to hear other people's results.

I heard about this, but haven't done it yet. With Spring in the air, I plan on trying it.
