How did he explain the correlation? I think I know what he might've said.

I voted 'For'... I like piercings. I think they are fun & cute. Of course, I don't like every piercing out there, but it's to each his own. I have quite a few piercings and I love them all.

I'm not a needle fan myself. Otherwise, I prefer to live and let live. Pierce away!

If you wanna see some intense piercings check out www.bmezine.com. I will warn you now it is NSFW as there tends to be quite a bit of nudity on it. I personally love piercings and tattoos. I would love to get some...but I really don't think they would look right on me. THIS however is WAY too much for my taste

I love all my piercings (6 lobe, 1 helix, 1 naval, 1 nose) and even like the extreme ones I see on other people. For me, piercings don't have any special meaning and aren't there to garner attention or anything. They're just a way to wear more jewelry.
I've often wondered why earlobe piercings are considered 'normal' but others are looked upon as weird or ugly. I don't see any difference between having a hole in ones earlobe or in ones nose. All kinds of piercings have been around for centuries, you'd think people would be used to them by now.

BMEzine goes waaaaaaaaaaay further than just nudity.. it's definitely not for the squeamish. It's a great resource for those interested in learning about piercings/tattoos though, I use it all the time.

I really don't give a rip what people pierce or don't pierce. It isn't like it affects me personally.

I wouldn't doubt that. I think for some people, it's become the socially acceptable way to self-mutilate, which relieves tremendous amounts of mental pain. As long as it's called "body-modification", not cutting, it's OK.
As for me, I'm not into it. My navel ring irritated me, I can barely keep my ear holes open because I forget to put earrings in. I find facial piercing distracting and unattractive (though I do like the marilyn monroe, that's kinda cute). What can I say, I'm old and boring.
edited for clarity.

GONE. I had too many problems with people linking to them, etc.

Re: Spinoff: For or against body piercing?
I have them. I love them. I am close to being done getting new ones and that thought makes me a little bit sad. I love everything about the experience from picking it out and making it mine in my head to feeling the needle going through flesh. It's not always a bad kind of pain but having lived with chronic pain for years, I am not afraid of a little bit more, especially if it means I get shinier in the end.
I used to not understand why people would get sensitive areas pierced but now I know people usually have pretty compelling reasons.
I don't think every person looks great in every piercing but I also think people should decorate (or not decorate) their bodies as they see fit. Get educated, go to a good piercer, do your aftercare and go for it -- or don't go for it. It's your body.
