There is a huge adult section on Ebay. Everything under the sun. On the Ebay home page click All Categories, then Everything Else, then Adult Only.

Pampered Chef is a pyramid scheme, and Mary Kay kind of is. The way Avon is set up, it could be a pyramid scheme...but it's not, because it's really about selling products rather than recruiting more sellers for a "downline."
I've heard it said by various financial gurus that companies like Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc. that actually sell a product, and don't just concentrate on drawing in more and more people, aren't usually considered pyramid schemes by 'the authorities' - FTC and law enforcement, I suppose?

I know from past personal experience that while MK certainly promotes recruiting, product sales are also important to them. There are plenty of worker bees out there just selling their products for a little extra income, without ever getting into the whole recruiting/pink Cadillac thing, which helps keep the whole thing legit. From what I've seen thru a couple of friends who've sold Pampered Chef, it appears to work much the same way.

For discreet purchase, drugstore.com has a surprisingly wide selection, with reviews.

It's pretty uncommon for a successful pyramid scheme to involve no product. One of these is Women Helping Women (also the name of many legitimate groups dedicated to actually helping women). In that one, you actually just put money in envelopes and send it to people!

But most pyramid schemes feature a product line, or sometimes many product lines like with Amway/Quixtar. But the products' main purpose is to make the scheme seem legitimate and encourage people to sign up. In reality, the focus is on building a downline. That's what makes something a pyramid scheme, not whether or not there's a product involved.

Unlike more concrete pyramid schemes, Mary Kay can be legit or a pyramid scheme depending on the individual seller. As you said, there isn't necessarily a focus on recruiting a downline. But there can be, and some people really do get into that side of it. It doesn't help that Mary Kay heavily promotes Christianity in a pretty cult-like way, which is a very common tactic of pyramid schemes.

EDIT because I realized I got a detail wrong:
Also the pink Cadillac thing is a joke. It's just leased, and the monthly lease is paid for out of your income! If you fail to generate enough profit in a month to cover the next lease payment, you have to pay for it out of pocket! And you can opt to just get the monetary value of the monthly lease payment, instead of getting the car.

BTW I didn't mean to take our salacious vibrator chat off topic. We can start a different thread about pyramid schemes, if anyone wants to discuss it more.

This thread has me browsing for stuff since I'll be pseudo-single for half the year after we move. The choices are overwhelming.

One last guano, I sold Mary Kay for three years - when Mary Kay was still living - and didn't see any of this at all. I'd think it's even less common since she died. There must just be certain directors who do/did it.

And, at least back then, if you didn't sell a certain level and maintain a certain number of "consultants" in your unit, you lost the Cadillac. Period. You might have gotten a red Grand Am at your lower level, but there was no paying the lease for either car out of your pocket if you weren't meeting the quotas. Yes, you could get extra cash instead of a car in the first place, but hardly anyone did because there's no other visible sign that you're at that level (except within Mary Kay itself) - maybe at the Grand Am level since those outside MK didn't know their significance, but rarely at the Cadillac level - too much of an identifiable status thing, ugly as they are.

Default Weird but totally serious question

For those of you who have had lipstick/pocket bullets or vibes, have you taken them through airport security? I know that some assure you on the website that they are airport security friendly but I have this image of trying to get through security and the buzzers go off and TSA starts to freak out on me all because of a vibe lol.

SN: Has anyone bought anything from Spicy Gear?

Just disable the vibe and you'll be fine. Take the batteries out or, if it's rechargeable, there's probably some way to lock it so it won't suddenly turn on.

Okay, here's brand specific. I have a Jimmyjane Iconic Rabbit. It's based on the original Vibratex Rabbit Habit, but this one comes with a 1 year warranty and is all white, very elegant. Something went wrong with mine at 11 months and they swapped out my old one for a new one. Try doing that with any other vibrator manufacturer.

Eden Fantasys is my favorite on-line store; they have excellent product information and a large selection. You can also get it on the Jimmyjane.com site. I bought my first one at Good Vibrations in Brookline. They're woman friendly and carry a good selection.

Newsflash - Iconic Rabbit is only $60 at Overstock.com.
I bought another.

Besides Fun Factory, you should check out the Lelo toys. They're pricier but really well made and designed. My latest purchase was the SaSi which is just an odd duck. It's totally different in design and intent than almost all other toy as it's meant to simulate oral sex. You can see a video of how it works on youtube.

Have not tried pyrex at all, but I'm not adverse. I've just always been more focused on vibrators than dildos.

Hm, it's hard to skate that line of in/appropriateness in a thread that discusses sex in general. This might be even harder.
My first toy was from the Fun Factory, they do have funny looking toys that are very good quality ans last very long.
My mistake though for my first toy was to take a big one and it hurt me a bit.

I have a little collection of Lelos (4/5) and it's my favorite brand! They look great, work fantastic, are rechargeable and so much fun. I even got my boyfriend one. I mostly use it with him or alone, depends on our mood. Toys can really be fun and spice things up. Try using one with the real thing at the same time:

Also, don't sleep on oils, they make a HUGE difference even if you're not dry at all, love it!

So I bought that liberator wedge at a local shop and I must say it's amazing! Highly highly recommended!!

Also just wanted to share... If anyone here shops at adam and eve.com the coupon code "coupon11" will get you 50% off an item and free shipping and 2 free mystery gifts. Just used it today so still works. It doesn't work on the liberator wedge tho but pretty much works on everything else
