Sexual Orientation?
I hope this isn't construed an offensive poll -- if you find it to be so, please let me know and I'll shut it down.
I have, as of late, become curious about the threads that consistently generate lots of responses and interesting (hopefully instructional) debate. It is clear that the race threads generate lots of attention, and I attribute this to the fact that (based on the poll administered a few days ago) there seems to be a lot of racial variation on the board.
However, threads such as "oprah's not gay" seem to generate less debate. For instance, I found many of the remarks made to be somewhat controversial (i.e. people "knowing" oprah is gay because of how she acts)...and, while on other boards I visit these remarks would be extremely taboo, they receive no comment here. Is this because we have a (relatively) small number of gay women on the board?
At any rate, feel free to answer the poll if you like (and, as always, remain anonymous if you choose). Just curious to know what our makeup here is at nc.com

Ditto, I'm hetero too - turns out I'm the second! So far we're 100% straight on this thread.

I sometimes think I'm asexual. I don't think I can keep up with my man, that's for sure!
Anyway, I think Oprah is boring, so I don't really care what she's doing. Where I live there's a large gay population, and gays are a protected class just like women, minorities, etc. They had to do it as a city ordinance because they knew it wouldn't be accepted statewide, unfortunately. Discrimination against gays is considered to be just as unacceptable as discrimination toward other groups around here. I also consider it to be just as important of an issue.

Well see its like this. I pretty much hetero. But I don't think 100%. I've never DONE anything, but I don't think I'd be totally against it. It may just be curiosity. Who knows. But it doesn't matter. I'm married now. I actaully told my hubby "Damn! Now I can't ever hook up with a girl"

I'm stricly dickly but then the more I think about it I think I could seriously be asexual Sex is really not on my top 10 list of anything.

I put heterosexual but I think that's a little restrictive. I am mostly attracted to men and incidentally attracted to women. I don't tend to feel the connection with women that I do with men. If I had a willing, attractive woman in front of me I would want to be affectionate with her but I'm not sure how far I would take it. I suppose if I found a woman who inspired me I would date her.
So while I don't feel that the term "bisexual" explains my feelings very well I don't think "heterosexual" tells the full story.
Or maybe I'm just a slut.

I voted hetero, but I agree with what Trenellm and wonderdiana wrote. I've kissed girls before, but not in a romantic way - more in a we're drunk let's make out kind of way. Never done more. Maybe would have considered it in my single days, but I'm married now so it's a moot point.

I am married with a son but would not rule out hooking up with a girl.  It's happened before on a few occasions and I doubt very seriously if those times would be the last times.

I do admit to girl crushes, but I haven't (nor do I think I would) get involved with a woman romantically/sexually. I like men (sometimes a little too much I think).

I don't know! Good question!!! We talked about that before marriage and he said he didn't think it was the same as hooking up with a guy. But we haven't talked about it since then, really. Interesting. VERY interesting.

I've had one miserable relationship with a woman who broke my heart into 52 bazillion pieces and then trampled on it for the next 2 or so years. So I stick to the men-folk now because I understand them better. But girls are prettier
