Abbreviation for husband?
Rather than typing out "my husband" every time, what is your favorite way for yourself and others to refer to their husband?

DH.
It's stupid, but it's quick to write and everyone knows what it means. I don't like it when people refer to their spouse and kids by name in online conversations. I'm having to guess about the identity of the person to whom you're referring and maybe I don't want to know that much about them personally, kwim?

Depends on how much I like her at the time and how long my story will be.
(wife that is)

I usually use hubby, but sometimes I use dh. Just depends on my mood.

DH is "Designated Hitter". Which is probably true in most cases, but it still throws me every time I see it.
I usually refer to him here as "my husband".

I use DH as I am all about laziness in typing

I prefer DH because it's only two letter, but it's been brought to my attention recently that some people find the abbreviation very annoying.

I don't have a husband!
If I did, I'd probably just refer to him as "my husband." I like writing things out, for the most part, and I imagine I'd sound silly saying "hubby." See, I just said it and it was indeed silly.
Anyway, carry on.

I don't have a husband just yet. The x is x-hubby. My fiance is Mr. Man here on a public message board. On a private board, I am comfortable using his first name, but not here.

I go with what makes me comfortable, sorry, don't really care if DH is annoying - it works for me and there will always be something that will annoy someone.
Some of the husbands around here sound like DH's and I don't mean Dear Husband...

Why does it annoy people?
I use DH, and always think "designated hitter," which makes me laugh. "You're up to bat, boy "

This is because I picked the wrong letters in the "crush" thread isn't it?

DH is annoying to me because if I'm posting about him, it's usually not because he's "dear." I use hubby or husband.

most internet lingo/abbreviations are annoying. why such an uproar over this particular one. In the long run they are all about shorthand and communication is achieved. I don't really care if people use it or not.

it sounds a little "father knows best" to me for some reason ...
maybe i'd feel differently if i had one (but i can't imagine having referred to my ex that way either).
but i can't think of anything i'd prefer, either. i guess 'my husband' would do, though i can see the advantage of being able to abbreviate it.
