"Volumptuous" is not a word, yet I have seen people use it here on NC. It's like someone crossed "voluptuous" with "sumptuous." Or "voluptuous" with "lumpy."
It's "voluptuous"--there's no M in there.
I also dislike when people pronounce "height" with an h at the end, so they say "heighth."Ugh.

Im guilty of saying "git" instead of get. I say it all the time actually.
I'll never understand why pronouncing height with an "h" caught on. Thats another one that bugs me.
I also hate trend words. I remember when Destiny's Child put on the song Bootylicious and everybody started adding "licious" to random words. Just like they did with "izzle".

sister in laws, brother in laws, etc.
Makes me crazy.
Ditto to the combining of words like ginormous.
(Don't mind it for those below 5th grade, but when older people say these things trying to sound cute, they just sound ridiculous to me.)

I'm in the military so I'm used to many "new" words.
pre-coordinated
deployers
There are many more I just can't think of right now. I've just used these 2 in the last 4 hours of work.

Oooh, that one bugs me too, and I've heard a lot of people use it. I definitely hear the "lumpy" in there, which is really not a compliment... LOL.

I was guilty of using "anyways" in stead of "anyway" and linking "website" together as one word. oops.

Actually, there's a mistake here. "Unphased" is incorrect, but it's a misspelling, not a made up word. "Unfazed" is the correct spelling.

I sometimes say anyways. I'm sure I say a lot of things that aren't "real" words- as do most people. But I'm well aware that it's not proper English, lol. (Well, most of the time anyway- I hope!!!)
ETA: I guess I'm just saying that there's a time and a place... of course, that doesn't mean you don't have the right to find certain words and phrases annoying, ha!

I think my single biggest peeve is when people add apostrophes all over the place for no reason, usually before any 's' that comes at the end of a word. Examples:
Ladie's Room
All item's on sale
My car need's gas
That stink's
Another one that bugs me is Baby Mama or Baby Daddy. What, you can put unnecessary apostrophe-s' all over the place, but you can't put one on the end of Baby? Sigh.
My BF and I use libary a lot, but it's done deliberately, sort of an inside joke.

Bestest thread evah!
I don't keer if yall don't like how I talk, you'er jess old.
I still remember when someone posted a thread about her boyfriend. Her boyfriend said, "Ursher really done growed up," and after that she had to dump him. Since then I've been saying 'growed up' because it gets stuck in my head.

Most of these are just funny, stupid mispronunciations - we all have a few, and a lot of us even know better if we stop and think about them, but . . . back to the OP, what really "gripes my soul" is when I hear things like conversate, dialogue and effort used as verbs on national newscasts! At first, I thought it was just a particular news anchor screwing up, but I've since heard dialoguing and efforting, particularly, many times. However, I guess they're slightly better than conversate since they're at least real words, LOL! (dialogue and effort, I mean, not dialoguing and efforting!)
Other pet peeves are people using bring and take backwards . . . in writing, using must of, should of, etc. instead of must've, should've . . . running a and lot together into one word . . . irregardless instead of regardless . . . renumeration instead of remuneration . . . I'll shut up, though I could go on and on!

Don't you hate when you use one of your inside joke words or phrases out in public.
It just comes out.
and you're like...
oh. hmmm. I said that HERE.
I'm not supposed to say that HERE.
That's a "mr. Y and I word"
No-one else is supposed to know...
Some of them are really embarassing too.
