We told the in-laws about their new grandson -- and they didn't really like any of the names. But it won't be their dog. Son and hubby are leaning toward Cody, Boomer (aussie for large male kangaroo!), or not changing it after all.

We're going to drive up to Napa to get him Friday afternoon!
The kitchen is puppy safe, so he can stay there when not supervised (crate when we're out). There are still cords and stuff he could chew on in the living room, but he won't be left alone in there.

that made me smile, my mom just named a stray she took in George Clooney Our friends let their 4 year old name their new cat, Clarence Popsickles, which is now my new favorite cat name! Boomer seems pretty cool for the new pup, congrats on the new family member

So I recommend Jimmy Smits or Leonard Nimoy.
Those names are awesome.
I like the name Radar for the pup

I can't believe I was thinking about this last night, but I was. How about Friday (since you're getting him on Friday)?

Angus McFly Fraser is his full name.. McFly since for a 75lb dog he is graceful in the air.. Can you tell dad has a scotch heritige? I'm Irish so it works..

Still voting radar for those ears..

I love some of the pet names here!

And then there is the queen of all cats - Princess Pita Petunia Snaggletooth. She wanted 5 names but I put my foot down and said 4 was enough. Plus she has lots of nicknames, most of which would be censored here. : )

We're getting him this afternoon! We'll head out as soon as son gets out of school (1:30 Fri). I hope we miss the traffic.

So we'll start to narrow down the list and see what fits. More pics to come!

My cousin reminded me that Dragonflies are good luck!

As far as names, I like Radar, Bugsy, or Boomer.

From the list, I really like Radar. When I (maybe) get another dog, I'm thinking about going with a male and naming him Charlie, so I'm partial to that, too.

Is he a Frenchie?

He's here! Long day, long drive, we're both exhausted. He's already in bed (crate). He went to the door twice to go potty.
More later. Off to bed soon.

Edgar (as in Ed-grrrr )

. . . from the dog in the For Better or For Worse comic strip; I've always thought that was the best name for a dog I'd ever come across.)

Also love Windflower's suggestion for Ben

OMG, he cried ALL night! I'm so tired. And he hasn't eaten even a whole cup of food since we brought him home last night.
He does ask to go out (no accidents so far) but sometimes he just sits in the yard and cries, like he's looking for his littermates. I feel sad for him. I've never had to deal with this loneliness part, since my other 2 were straight from shelters and used to being alone. This one is from a foster since just after birth, with the whole litter and mom and all. I'm sure he is tired today from lack of sleep, but he's not very playful today. I guess he needs to adjust.

He's so small! He's 15 weeks old and about 18#. Now they estimate he will be about 40#. Well, I did want a smaller dog. lol

What a pretty brindle coat . . . I always find the name comes to me once I meet the dog. Have you decided yet?

I thought "Boo" or "Boo Radley" just because his ears make him look sort of startled.

And "Dragonfly" really isn't bad, if you called him "Fly." That's a good short name to call with . . .

Aww, congratulations on bringing your new little guy home. Our Heidi cried the first night, too. She wasn't in a foster home, but she was used to being with her littermates, then other dogs, at the adoption center. It also took a couple days for her true personality to come out, once she got more used to us...watch out.

Have you decided on a name?
