Default Poll about your Curls?

We're conducting a poll about curl attitudes. Thanks for your help!

Edit:

Never mind, as the poll was attached as I was typing....

But to answer the question-I didn't have natural curls as a kid! My hair was super thin and stick straight, so my mom had to perm my hair to keep my scalp from burning. I hated that, and wanted long, thick hair.

I voted, I helped! I voted "didn't care one way or another". Heck, I can't even remember when it darkened!

Growing up in the '60's, I hated my frizzy curly hair. I begged my sister to take me to have my hair straightened. To this day, I remember going to Ollies in downtown Brooklyn to get my hair chemically straightened

There's really not an option for me. I didn't have curls as a child. I only got my curls when puberty came along.

I think high school was the worst. They used to call me "POOF", I can laugh about it now, but it was upsetting then. That was back in the 80's when nobody knew what to do with curly hair. Remember Glamour Shots? I went there and she had no idea what to do with my hair, she did my make up and said you can do your hair.

Hated it. My mom didn't know what to do with it... I have one brother with curly hair and he just kept it short, so no issue. Mom would BRUSH mine with the rough bristly brushes and I'd end up with a gigantic poof. Oh, with bangs too. Nice.

Hated, hated, hated them. There are times even now when I still do hate them.

When my curls found me I was indifferent. I still am at times. :|

I hated them when I was a kid. It wasn't until about 14 or 15 that I started to appreciate them and stop brushing them out.

My hair didn't get very curly until I was around 8 or 9. Before that, I don't really remember it much - I always asked my mom to blow dry it. But, once it started to get curly, I hated it. I had no idea what to do with my hair, and since I didn't do anything to it, it just kind of looked messy, and my health book said I should brush my hair everyday to keep it clean. So I did. Not the best idea.

Anyway, I finally figured out that brushing wasn't working. So around age 12 I started putting gel in my hair. Once I learned how to take care of it, I loved it. So, I don't really have a straight (no pun intended) answer... :P

I'm with Peppy. But my hair was straight and thick. Started to wave around 8 or 9, didn't realize I had any curl until about 14.

I didn't have curls as a kid, either, so I'll pretend to vote for that option, even though it doesn't exist.

My niece always loved hers, but she's the only one I know. Sorry I can't help! I hated mine, but am trying very hard to get my daughter to love hers. It's not working, though.

I think the problem was that all these old ladies (they were old to me, but probably actually younger than I am now) would tell me how beautiful my curls were and how they pay lots of money to get their hair to look like mine. At 14, who wants old lady hair? I wanted a Dorothy Hamill or a Farrah flip!

I hated them and wished I had straight hair. That was during the Christie Brinkley, Farrah Fawcett era of feathering.
